1, Sheldon Day
Xuedun Festival is one of the biggest traditional festivals in Tibet, also known as Yogurt Festival. It represents the harvest of yogurt and the prosperity of Tibetan Buddhist culture. During the Snowdon Festival, people will hold grand celebrations, including Tibetan operas, exhibitions and sports competitions. In addition, there is an important traditional activity in the Sutton Festival, that is, the ceremony of drying Buddha. People will show their works of art in various ways, such as painting, sculpture, weaving and so on.
2. Tibetan calendar year
Tibetan calendar year is a traditional New Year for Tibetan people and an important representative of Tibetan festival culture. The first day of the first month of the Tibetan calendar, which lasts for three to five days, is the most important festival for Tibetans. At the beginning of December in Tibetan calendar, people began to prepare new year's goods, and every household soaked highland barley seeds in a basin to cultivate young crops. During the Tibetan calendar year, different regions had different eating habits and customs, such as having New Year's Eve or New Year's Eve, getting together at night and suddenly eating dough.
3. Fruit Festival
Guowang Festival is a festival for Tibetan farmers to celebrate the harvest, which is popular in Lhasa, Shigatse and Shannan in Xizang Autonomous Region. The festival time changes with the change of agricultural time in different places. Generally, it is held two or three days after barley yellow ripening and before sickle harvesting. This is a traditional festival for Tibetan farmers to celebrate the harvest every year.
4. Bath Festival
Bathing Festival is an important traditional festival for Tibetan people, and it is also a day for them to bathe and pray. At the beginning of July in the Tibetan calendar in Tibet, according to Buddhism, the water on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau has eight advantages, and July is called the best time for bathing. During the bathing festival, people will bring tents, butter tea, highland barley wine, Ciba and other foods to the banks of Lhasa River and Yarlung Zangbo River to have fun and swim.
5. Sagadawa Festival
Sagadawa Festival is an important festival for Tibetan Buddhism and Tibetan people. It is related to three important events in the Buddha's life, namely birth, awakening and nirvana. On this day, people will hold grand celebrations, such as turning over scriptures, burning incense and eating fast food, and pray for the blessing of the Buddha. Sagadawa Festival also symbolizes people's sincere belief and prayer for Buddha. On this day, people can feel the unique charm of Tibetan culture.
