What kinds of gypsum boards are commonly used in home improvement?

At present, gypsum boards produced in China mainly include decorative gypsum boards, paper gypsum boards, embedded decorative gypsum boards, perforated gypsum boards for sound absorption, gypsum hollow slats, fiber gypsum boards and so on.

1. gypsum board

Gypsum board is a kind of light board, with gypsum slurry as interlayer and paper as protective surface on both sides. Ordinary gypsum board is used for interior walls, partitions and suspended ceilings. The fireproof water-resistant gypsum board can be used for room walls with high humidity such as bathroom, kitchen and toilet.

Material selection: the high-quality gypsum board is made of imported raw wood pulp paper, which is light, thin, high in strength, smooth in surface, free from stains, long in fiber and good in toughness. Inferior gypsum board is paper produced from recycled pulp in China, which is heavy and thick, with poor strength and rough surface. Gypsum board surface will sometimes see oil stains, easy to crack. The quality of paper also directly affects the decorative performance of gypsum board surface. A good plasterboard surface can be painted directly, and a poor plasterboard surface can only be painted after it is fully recognized.

(1) fireproof gypsum board

The board is made of building gypsum as the main raw material and special fireproof materials. In case of fire, this board can keep its structural integrity (in building structure) for a long time, thus delaying the collapse of gypsum board, blocking the spread of fire and prolonging the fire prevention time. Glass fiber and other additives are added in the production process of plate, which can effectively enhance the integrity of plate in case of fire.

(2) Waterproof gypsum board

After waterproof treatment, the water absorption rate of gypsum board core and tissue paper is not more than 160g, and the water absorption rate is not more than 10%, which is suitable for use places with continuous relative humidity not more than 95% (such as toilets and bathrooms).

2. Decorative gypsum board

Decorative gypsum board with building gypsum as the main raw material is a new type of interior decoration material, and its color pattern is vivid, novel and generous, which is suitable for middle and high-grade decoration.

3. Embedded decorative gypsum board

Taking building gypsum as the main raw material, adding a proper amount of fiber reinforced materials and additives, adding water and stirring into a uniform slurry, casting and molding, and drying into unprotected paper plates. The four sides of the back of the board are thickened and are embedded with tenons and grooves, and the front of the board can be flat, with holes or embossed patterns.

4. Perforated gypsum board for sound absorption

The embedded decorative gypsum board with a certain number of through holes is used as the panel, and the back is compounded with sound absorption materials, so that it has certain sound absorption characteristics.

5. Gypsum hollow lath

Gypsum hollow lath is a rapidly developing lightweight board, which takes building gypsum as the main raw material and does not need keel for installation. Mainly used for interior walls and partitions.

6. Fiber gypsum board

Fiber gypsum board is made of building gypsum as the main raw material and adding a proper amount of fiber reinforced materials. The bending strength of this board is higher than that of gypsum board, which can be used for interior walls and partitions, and can also replace wood to make furniture.
