Brief introduction of Yuanling traditional dragon boat race

Dragon boat race is a folk activity of Han nationality with a long history. Yuanling is the hometown of traditional dragon boat in China. After thousands of years, the traditional dragon boat race in Yuanling has formed such heavy "Yuanling Dragon Boat Classics" as "stealing materials", "critical moment", "enjoying red", "grabbing red", "smashing boats" and "three schools", which constitutes the profound traditional dragon boat culture in western Hunan. Yuanling County has also successfully held three national traditional dragon boat races and five provincial traditional dragon boat races, making it the largest traditional dragon boat race base in the province. The triennial traditional Dragon Boat Festival is of great significance to promote the development of dragon boat sports in this county, enhance friendly exchanges with the outside world, improve the tourism popularity of Yuanling, and enrich and invigorate the sports life of the people.
