Traditional servers and cloud servers
Commonly used traditional IDC services include physical server hosting and leasing. The former is that users buy their own hardware and send it to the computer room for hosting. During this period, the monitoring and management of the equipment are independently completed by users. IDC data center provides IP access, bandwidth access, power supply and network maintenance. In the latter, IDC data center rents physical equipment for customers to use and is responsible for the stability of the environment. Users don't need to buy hardware devices. The services provided by cloud computing are a set of continuous services from infrastructure (Iaas) to business infrastructure platform (PaaS) and then to application layer (SaaS). IDC data center integrates large-scale hardware servers into the cloud to provide users with service capabilities and IT efficiency. Users don't have to worry about the performance limitations of any hardware devices, such as the elastic expansion of bird cloud resources, in order to obtain highly scalable and available computing power.
Second, the difference between cloud computing and traditional IDC in the speed and scale of resource intensification.
Traditional IDC only carries out limited integration on the basis of hardware servers, such as multiple virtual machines * * * enjoying the performance of a physical server. However, this simple intensification is limited by the resource scale of a single physical server, which is far less effective than the large-scale integration across physical servers and even data centers. More importantly, the resources provided by traditional IDC can't withstand the rapid redistribution in a short time. Moreover, like Little Bird Cloud Server, cloud computing can realize horizontal/vertical flexible resource expansion and rapid scheduling.
Third, the difference between cloud computing and traditional IDC in resource allocation delay.
Fourthly, the differences between cloud computing and traditional IDC in platform operation efficiency.
More flexible resource application methods and higher technology upgrades enable cloud service providers to have collective advantages and innovate resource utilization methods, thus promoting the operational efficiency of the whole platform. For example, optimize the server design, update the server software, and access the private network according to the needs of different users. Moreover, unlike traditional IDC services, cloud computing liberates users from the management and operation and maintenance of hardware devices and focuses on the development and innovation of internal business. Cloud service providers are responsible for the stability of the cloud platform itself. This responsibility sharing model improves the operational efficiency of the whole platform.
