The above nine flavors, seven liters of wine, eight liters of water, first boil eight flavors, take three liters, remove the dregs, within the gelatine melt eliminated, take a liter of warm service, three services a day. A re-pulse soup.
This master with the amount of special drugs are four:
One is a catty of raw rhizome, in the typhoid fever theory of the formula, this is the largest dosage.
The second is half a liter of Maimendong, which is equivalent to about three taels according to the actual measurement.
Third, half a liter of hemp seeds. According to actual weighing, half a liter of hemp seed kernel is roughly 45 grams, which is also equivalent to three taels.
Fourth, thirty jujubes, which is also the largest dosage among all the prescriptions of Typhoid Miscellaneous Diseases. It is equivalent to eight taels.

Note from Dr. Cheng, Chinese Medicine Doctor of the Scripture:
1. In the book of Typhoid Fever and the Golden Chamber, there are two prescriptions for licorice:
One is "Licorice Soup", which does not specify whether it is used raw or roasted in the licorice soup. But it is generally used raw.
The second is this formula, and it is stated that "roasted" licorice is used. We generally believe that "roasted" is roasted with honey. However, according to research, in the Han Dynasty, the so-called roasted licorice, that is, licorice slices into the frying pan, heating, fragrant, to the degree of fox color, stirring and become.
In this formula, the largest amount of dihuang, but why is it named roasted licorice soup? Ke Yunbo said: against the licorice name of the formula, by which the drug carries the human heart, to make up for the deficiency in the middle of the peace of God Ming ear.
2. Evidence:
The evidence for this formula is found in both the Typhoid and the Golden Chamber.
There is only one article in the Treatise on Typhoid Fever, Article 177: Typhoid fever, pulse knotting, palpitation of the heart, Zhi Gan Cao Tang is the mainstay.
In the Jin Gui appear, are made as an accompanying prescription:
First, from the Qian Jin wing of the roasted licorice soup: a cloud of pulse soup. Treatment of deficiency, sweating and stuffy, pulse knot palpitation, action as usual, not out of a hundred days, critical, eleven days to death.
The second is from the external stage of the roasted licorice soup: the treatment of lung impotence salivation and saliva, the heart warm liquid liquid.
For the evidence of this formula, in the clinical application, mainly to the typhoid theory of Article 177, so we redefine the evidence of this formula is as follows:
Shaoyin disease, the pulse junction generation, roasted licorice soup main.
In clinical use of this formula, the main symptom is the "knotting of the pulse", what is knotting?
For the knot pulse and the generation of pulse, in the classic original text there is also a description and analysis, but it is not easy to understand. Combined with modern medicine and clinical, we can think of it this way: the heart disease treated by the roasted licorice soup, with arrhythmia as the most. The "Knotting of the pulse" referred to in the Treatise on Typhoid Fever is a kind of pulse that pulsates slowly and stops. That is to say, the pulse is not fast, i.e., the pulse beats slowly and sometimes stops. Combined with the electrocardiogram, that is: junction pulse caused by compensatory extrasystole, generation pulse caused by atrioventricular incomplete conduction block.
The clinical experience of many doctors shows that baked licorice soup has different degrees of efficacy for a variety of cardiac diseases or other factors outside the heart caused by arrhythmia.
3.
Analyzing the medicinal properties of these five medicines, they all belong to the moisturizing and tonic properties, i.e., the moisturizing effect of this formula is embodied in Maimendong, Ma Zi Ren, Ginseng, Agaricus blazei, and Radix et Rhizoma Dioscoreae.
Maimendong has the effect of treating dry cough.
Ma Zi Ren has a slowing down effect.
Di Huang has a blood tonic effect.
Ginseng has a qi tonic effect.
Colla Corii Asini has sedative and hemostatic effects.
Because of the removal of Paeonia lactiflora, the indications for this formula usually do not have abdominal pain and its abdominal evidence does not have rectus abdominis muscle tension.
As this formula is based on Di Huang as the main herb, it is suitable for those with unkindness under the umbilicus, irritable heat, and hyperactivity of the cardiac aponeurosis and abdominal aorta.
4. Symptoms:
Through the above analysis of the evidence of the formula and the evidence of the drug, it can be seen that this formula is applicable to the symptoms of dryness and deficiency, i.e., the patient sweats a lot and is easily fatigued. It also treats palpitations (tachycardia), anemia, and constipation.
5. Human evidence:
The evidence of the licorice soup is mostly seen in the teacher Huang Huang said cinnamon body, namely: thin and emaciated face, often with anemia, such as obesity, dark red or greasy face, mostly phlegm-heat or phlegm-dampness, the hot licorice soup should not be used.
6. Decoction method:
The decoction method of this formula is special in the use of "sake" and water as a dissolving enzyme.
The reason for the use of wine may lie in the use of the main drug Shengdi. The reason for the use of wine may lie in the use of its main drug, shengdi, because in all the prescriptions of the Treatise on Typhoid Fever, all the prescriptions using shengdi by the Sage of medicine were made with wine. Its effect may be to decoct the effective adult of the medicines, and the wine can disperse the heart under the plague, good blood, and lead to enhance the efficacy of the medicines.
7. Precautions:
Weakness of the stomach and intestines, loss of appetite, or the lower profits, or those who take this prescription is contraindicated.
