How to use mercury sphygmomanometer

With the improvement of people's living standards and cultural literacy, many people no longer pursue material enjoyment, but pay more attention to their own health. Sphygmomanometer has become people's first choice, how to use it? How to use mercury sphygmomanometer? The following small series briefly introduces the use of sphygmomanometer.

How to use sphygmomanometer

1. Keep quiet for 5- 10 minutes before measuring blood pressure. Don't talk or move your arms or body while measuring.

2. The correct measurement posture should be sitting posture, the cuff and the heart should be at the same level, the upper arm naturally droops, the elbow and forearm naturally rest on the table, and the palm is up (see the manual for wrist measurement requirements);

3, the same person continuous measurement, should loosen the cuff, make the arm rest for 3 minutes;

4, fixed time every day, usually it is more appropriate to measure blood pressure before or after breakfast. Because people are not active at this time, the measured blood pressure can reflect the physiological condition more truly and reliably. Same, and then take an average.

5. The sphygmomanometer should measure the average value for many times, and use the electronic sphygmomanometer to measure the blood pressure at least three times.

How to use mercury sphygmomanometer

1. Correct posture: The sphygmomanometer should keep the same horizontal position with the arm and heart to be measured. Subjects can choose to sit or lie down for measurement.

2. Turn on the sphygmomanometer and reduce the mercury column reading to zero. After exhausting the air in the cuff of the sphygmomanometer, put it 2 ~ 3 cm above the elbow joint of the arm (it is best to choose the left arm for measurement, because the left arm is close to the heart and the relative measurement data is relatively stable).

3. Fix the cuffs (not too tight or too loose). After the brachial artery pulsates inside the cubital fossa, put the stethoscope head on the brachial artery and tighten the air valve on the cuff. Fast pumping and pressure measurement. When pumping air, the measurer should pay attention to the mercury column of the sphygmomanometer (pay attention to keeping the line of sight and scale on the same horizontal line as possible).

4. Unscrew the air valve and let the mercury drop slowly. When you hear the sound of the first pulse beating, the reading displayed at this time is the systolic blood pressure value. Continue listening while deflating until the pulse sound at a certain blood pressure scale weakens or even disappears, and the displayed blood pressure is diastolic pressure. Subjects should keep calm before measurement. After measurement, re-measure at least after 1 ~ 2 minutes. The average value of two times is selected as the measured blood pressure value.

5. Safe disposal of mercury sphygmomanometer:

(1) After using the sphygmomanometer, tilt the sphygmomanometer about 45 to the right of the mercury bottle, and turn off the switch of the mercury storage bottle after the mercury completely returns to prevent the mercury from flowing out.

(2) When the switch of the mercury storage bottle is not turned on, do not inflate or pressurize the rubber bag. Because when there is air in the bag, turning on the switch of the mercury storage bottle is easy to cause Gong to discharge and cause an accident.

(3) If there is any problem with the sphygmomanometer, it should be sent to a professional department for maintenance. Unauthorized maintenance can easily lead to mercury outflow and affect health.

(4) The sphygmomanometer should be placed horizontally in a stable and firm place, with an ambient temperature of -20℃ ~+35℃ and a relative humidity of ≤80%.
