The Significance of Learning Classical Chinese

From primary school, we began to contact and learn classical Chinese. Because of the long history, Bai Juyi's so-called "old women can read" poems are inevitably obscure. However, along the way, the harvest and significance are still revealed unconsciously.
We began to recite from babbling: reading "At the beginning of life, nature is good", and listening to stories told by parents, such as "Dogs Save Young Girls" and "Huang Xiang Warm Seats". Reading "Wen Zhiming's Xi Zi" was deeply moved by his learning spirit of "making great progress with ten books a day".
When we entered high school, we learned more and more famous classical Chinese articles. I feel more and more that as a Chinese son and a young man who wants to make progress, it is necessary to learn classical Chinese.
Reading Zeng Xian Wen means that a sheep kneels and suckles, and a crow feeds back. We clearly know that we should honor our parents. After reading the Book of the Later Han Dynasty, everyone knows how to get it, but he doesn't know how to get it. I see, giving to others is also a kind of gain. Reading Gongsun Zilong is humiliating without fighting. It teaches us that it is a shame to stand up when justice is insulted and bullied. Reading Mencius, I am old, I am young and I am young. Reading "Zhuangzi", the friendship between gentlemen is as light as water, and the friendship between villains is as good as ever. Read Zuo Zhuan, The Doctrine of the Mean, and Fan Zhongyan's Worry about the World First, and Enjoy the World Later.
By studying classical Chinese, I have a direct understanding of history and the thoughts of the ancients. Many China people's indispensable knowledge comes from classical Chinese. Three mountains and five mountains, three emperors and five emperors. However, it is undeniable that in the face of the concept of the ancients, we must understand it realistically in combination with the historical background at that time, but its reference function is undeniable.
Make the past serve the present, inherit and develop. Traditional Chinese medicine originated in China and has the characteristics of holistic treatment based on syndrome differentiation. It undoubtedly inherits our traditional culture well. Even during the Cultural Revolution, Chinese medicine, as a medical example of "making the past serve the present", was developed with the support of the party and state policies. Modern Chinese medicine is still one of the commonly used methods to treat diseases in China. Classical Chinese has always been a compulsory subject in Chinese medicine examination. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) came into being in primitive society, and the theory of TCM has basically taken shape during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. Just for medicine, what rich wisdom is contained in classical Chinese!
The Chinese nation has a long history. A long history of 5,000 years is condensed in written classics. There are infinitely rich materials in classical Chinese, which embodies the wisdom of the ancients. Of course, learning these classic articles will have a positive effect and influence on our cultivation connotation.
As sons and daughters of China, it is our bounden duty and responsibility to carry forward the traditional culture of the motherland. As middle school students, in the process of inheriting and developing traditional culture, they can increase the charm of conversation, broaden their horizons and enrich their knowledge. Why not?

Classical Chinese is the written language in ancient China, mainly including the written language based on the spoken language in the pre-Qin period. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, no articles were invented to record characters, but bamboo slips, silks and other things were used to record characters, and silks were expensive, bamboo slips were huge and the number of words recorded was limited. In order to record more things on a roll of bamboo slips, unimportant words must be deleted. Later, when "paper" was used on a large scale, the habit of using "official documents" among the ruling classes had been finalized, and the ability to use "classical Chinese" had evolved into a symbol of reading and literacy. Classical Chinese comes from vernacular Chinese, characterized by writing based on words, paying attention to the use of allusions, parallel prose, neat rhythm and no punctuation, including strategies, poems, words, songs, stereotyped writing, parallel prose and ancient prose.
As a China person, it is everyone's unshirkable responsibility to learn and inherit the excellent culture left by our ancestors. It is conducive to our understanding of traditional culture, ancient figures, living customs and scenic spots. Through the study of classical Chinese, we can guide the direction of our life. When we are at the bottom of our lives, we will think of Fan Zhongyan's "Don't rejoice in things, don't grieve for ourselves". When we feel insecure about ourselves, we naturally think of Li Bai's famous sentence, "Since God has given talents, let them be employed!"! , spin a thousand silver, all come back! " . Therefore, it is very important for us to learn classical Chinese and finally master and be familiar with its application.
There are several ways to learn classical Chinese:
First, from the point of view of characters, we should read and write correctly, that is, we can accurately grasp the pronunciation and font, and pay special attention to the study of interchangeable characters.
Secondly, from the perspective of words, we should learn from the following aspects: commonly used nominal words, commonly used function words, flexible use of parts of speech, ancient and modern different meanings and so on. Specifically, it is to learn the polysemy of commonly used notional words, the various usages of commonly used function words, the causative usage, intentional usage and behavioral usage in flexible use of parts of speech, the conversion and flexible use of nouns, verbs and adjectives, and the semantic differences between ancient and modern homographs.
Third, from the sentence level, we should master several special classical Chinese sentence patterns, including ellipsis, inversion, passive sentence and judgment sentence. Specifically, it is to master the omission of subject, predicate, object and preposition in ellipsis, preposition in inversion, preposition in preposition object, attributive, adverbial, passive verb in language, concurrently, Wei and Bei, and the passive phenomenon without passive signs, and to judge several common formats of sentences (such as the judgment sentence expressed by "Wei, Nai, namely".
Fourth, from the perspective of literary and cultural common sense, we should pay attention to the literary common sense of writers, works and authors' times, pay attention to the accumulation of cultural common sense of ancient imperial examinations, calendars, timing, festivals, surnames and official promotion, and combine historical knowledge. For example, if an official moves to the left, it means that an official is demoted. Therefore, we must pay attention to the accumulation of history and culture in our usual study.
Fifth, after studying, you can read more classical books, such as Sima Qian's Historical Records, and you can buy some books that compare ancient and modern times, so that you can compare while reading, which is conducive to improving your appreciation level.
Here, I can tell you some inspirations from my own study of classical Chinese. First, read more books and increase your experience. We can know some stories in advance, and then encounter these themes, even ancient prose, it is easy to understand the main idea. Second, strengthen accumulation at ordinary times, and remember what you don't understand. Third, look through the dictionary more to understand the meaning evolution of some words. Fourth, practice more and read more classical Chinese, so that your reading level of classical Chinese will be improved.
On the study of classical Chinese

Perhaps for modern people, classical Chinese has drifted away from us, and no one wants to really understand it. But as the most representative and national identity thing in China culture, we can't let it disappear in the accumulation of time.
As a high school student in modern society, classical Chinese is undoubtedly a big puzzle and problem in learning. Sometimes I feel that there are too many obstacles in the spiritual communication between modern people and the ancients. After all, we are so far away from the ancients. I don't understand the real purpose of the new culture movement' punching shop'. Do they really want to draw a line with the ancients, or do they want to remind us to pay more attention to the wisdom of our ancestors
In fact, learning classical Chinese is not difficult. Throughout the ages, the core of China's articles is nothing more than lyricism and understanding. As long as we really understand the author's true feelings, the corresponding background of the times and the thoughts and feelings that the author wants to express. Then the distance between us and the ancients naturally narrowed. Tao Yuanming said in "Going Back" that "I hate the first ray of sunshine in the morning when I beg my husband". Then we must know how free and easy Tao Yuanming's mood is at this time and how comfortable he is after resigning. Then this sentence is not difficult for us to understand. He couldn't wait to ask passers-by how long the road ahead was, complaining why it didn't get brighter soon. Obviously, Wang Bo's classic famous sentence "Lonely sunset in Qi Fei, autumn water * * * the sky is one color" in "Preface to Wang Tengting" expresses this emotion. Wang Guowei said in "Words on Earth" that "all scenery words are sentimental words", and there will be no images or scenery for no reason. These are all lyrical articles. It's not hard to see whether you are in love with scenery or things.
It is said that reading history makes one wise and reading poetry makes one witty. Reading classical Chinese is an organic combination of history and poetry, which makes us know more. Let our spirit have a pillar to rely on. Therefore, it is not difficult for me to understand that ancient people had a peaceful mind and a rich and enriched spiritual world.
Classical Chinese actually has great practical significance. In today's society, we may never return to the romantic and affectionate life of the ancients. As Wang Xizhi said in Preface to the Lanting Pavilion, the leisure of "walking through the snow in Xun Mei" in A Dream of Red Mansions no longer exists. But through reading and understanding the classical Chinese, we may be able to return to the original. After all, the spirit of China people is vividly expressed in their language. As long as we study deeply, we will certainly understand. You will find it is not far from us. Classical Chinese is a beautiful flower in the desert or a wisp of fragrance in the dusty desert.
Classical Chinese-the best teacher

Classical Chinese is the key to learning China traditional culture. Just as learning American literature requires reading English original works, learning China's profound traditional culture must begin with classical Chinese.
When I first started learning classical Chinese in junior high school, I was always surprised by its unique sentence pattern, and I spent a lot of time learning classical Chinese unconsciously. Basically, as long as you have studied ancient Chinese, you can recite it. Yueyang Tower is an article that impressed me the most. I recited it so well at that time because it was easy to read. As for the emotion the author wants to express and the social background of the article writing, I basically don't understand it, but because the teacher didn't emphasize it, it will go away. The exam is written in classical Chinese, but because there is always a lot of knowledge in the exam, time is spent on sentence patterns, words, sentence breaks and translation, thus ignoring the understanding of the author's ideological connotation and the deeper meaning of the article.
After entering high school, the method of learning classical Chinese is completely different from that of junior high school. The study of classical Chinese in senior high school has broadened my knowledge, so my enthusiasm for learning classical Chinese is even greater. Every time I learn an article, I want to have a deeper understanding of it. Especially when I was studying Zhuangzi's "Happy Wandering", I made great efforts in my study, because the words in it were uncommon and difficult to understand, and the contents were illusory and grotesque. Surfing the Internet, reading books and asking teachers, I try my best to learn. Finally, many good things happen. After learning this article, I am deeply impressed by Zhuangzi's "carefree travel" spirit, and I also agree that the realm of "carefree travel" can not be achieved by everyone, but it can be pursued by everyone-this is my harvest. There are many such examples. For example, in Biography of Lian Po and Lin Xiangru, Lian Po taught me to be generous. Whenever I am tired of learning, "Persuading to learn" is my guiding light; Although Jia Yi's On Qin is about an era far away from us, I also understand the truth that "water can carry a boat, but it can also overturn it". However, every time I study classical Chinese, whether it is a philosopher's exposition or a celebrity's biography, I have the opportunity to have a dialogue with historical celebrity face to face. Every time I face them, I will try my best to "choose what is good and follow it, and change what is not good" and listen attentively to the teachings of sages. The end of every classical Chinese study has enriched my knowledge and deepened my thoughts.
From the beginning, I knew nothing about classical Chinese, and later I had a deeper understanding. Step by step, I am more and more attracted by the unique charm of classical Chinese, and I also understand that learning classical Chinese is not to cope with exams, but to learn knowledge from it and have my own experience. Classical Chinese is not far from us. It is the language that once lived in this land, the language of our ancestors and the origin of our Chinese civilization. Learning classical Chinese well is more than just translating. China's writing is never as simple as you see. When reading a classical Chinese, there will be dozens of different feelings: when I was a student, I learned endlessly and only had a slight contact with classical Chinese; In youth, fighting spirit is high, and classical Chinese is the motive goal that inspires you to move forward to your goal; Middle age, rich experience, accumulated life, classical Chinese is your rare mentor; In the old age, enjoy the rest of your life. Classical Chinese is like an old friend, accompanying you all your life.
Classical Chinese is very important to everyone in China, especially to us teenagers who know nothing about society. Learning classical Chinese can enrich our experience and let us know this society earlier, instead of being a shallow and ignorant "greenhouse flower". So, don't be afraid of those "awkward people", pick up the classical Chinese learning reference books around you and start the journey of wisdom at once!
How to learn from you? Dear classical Chinese

Now senior high school students have three fears in learning Chinese: one is afraid of classical Chinese, the other is afraid of writing, and the third is afraid of Zhou Shuren. Classical Chinese is the first fear, and I think the reasons are as follows:
First of all, classical Chinese is an ancient language, and now it has almost no use value. Away from the vernacular, it is hard to avoid obscurity. For us, where can "useless" and "difficult to understand" arouse our interest in learning? Secondly, some texts are too abstruse and some are too boring. For example, Lanting collection preface, free travel. Finally, "learning what you tested" is our highest creed. How can we be "stupid" and study the text tirelessly if we don't attend classes on the college entrance examination questions?
To change the status quo, we need to start from the classroom. You must prepare well before class, so that you can meet others and discuss the world. If you don't know the author's experience, you can't accurately grasp the main idea of the article. In class, the teacher shows that he is quite good at the text, can basically recite it, and is also handy for some famous anecdotes and famous sentences. Teachers' performance can make us directly feel the benefits of learning classical Chinese well, which will greatly stimulate our enthusiasm and confidence in learning classical Chinese.
Read more practical articles and read classical Chinese works independently, such as Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio and Shi Shuo Xin Yu. This can make our interest very high. I believe that even students who hate classical Chinese will finish reading Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio with great interest and can't put it down. Over time, students will suddenly find that classical Chinese is not ugly, not terrible, and a little cute.
In my opinion, every reading of classical Chinese is a spiritual exchange with the ancients and a happy journey through time and space. "The Biography of Su Wu" made me understand the country's righteousness, integrity and shame. Jing ke stabbed the king of Qin and made me understand the meaning of life and death. An example taught me loyalty. Taste the classical Chinese attentively. Through the story of Yueyang Tower, I read Fan Zhongyan's noble sentiment of worrying about the world first and enjoying the world later, and felt "Weiss, who do we belong to?" Lonely and helpless. I read Zhuge Liang's loyalty of "doing my best until I die" through "An Example". I read Su Shi's broad-mindedness of "being friends with fish and shrimp, and being friends with elk" through Red Cliff Fu. Through The Chen She Family, I read the cry that "princes would rather have seeds", and I was filled with indignation. Through the biographies of Lian Po and Lin Xiangru, I read Lin Xiangru's feeling that "I did it first for the country, and secondly for personal grievances". Feel and experience with your heart. I believe that students will fall in love with classical Chinese.
