What are logical thinking and image thinking?

Logical thinking, also known as abstract thinking, is an advanced form of thinking. Its characteristic is that abstract concepts, judgments and reasoning are the basic forms of thinking, and analysis, synthesis, comparison, abstraction, generalization and concretization are the basic processes of thinking, thus revealing the essential characteristics and regular relations of things. Abstract thinking is different from action thinking based on action and image thinking based on appearance. It got rid of the dependence on perceptual materials. There are generally two kinds of abstract thinking: empirical and theoretical. The former forms concepts on the basis of practical activities and makes judgments and inferences based on practical experience. For example, workers and peasants use production experience to solve problems in production, which mostly belong to this type. The latter is based on theory and uses scientific concepts, principles, laws and formulas to make judgments and inferences. The thinking of scientists and theoretical workers mostly belongs to this type. Empirical thinking is often limited to narrow experience, so the degree of abstraction is low.

Thinking in images is thinking with images stored in the mind. This kind of thinking activity is carried out by the right brain, because the right brain is mainly responsible for intuition, synthesis, geometry, painting and other thinking and behavior. A typical example is that Einstein described his thinking process like this: "When I think about a problem, I don't think with words, but with the image of jumping activities." When this kind of thinking is completed, I will make great efforts to convert them into language. " Li Zhengdao, another Nobel Prize winner, has returned to China twice a year since 1980s, advocating the combination of science and art.. He held a "Science and Art Seminar" in Beijing and invited famous painters such as Huang Zhou, Hua and Wu Guanzhong to "study painting". Li Zhengdao's paintings are the forefront of modern physics, involving quantum theory, the origin of the universe, low-temperature superconductivity and other fields. The artist vividly shows these profound physical principles in the form of painting by using the brain thinking model that he is good at. When we look at these paintings again today, we are all shocked by their majestic momentum. The title picture is "Super Metaphysics", which shows the scene of the beginning of chaos in the universe.
