What is Qingming馃 (a specialty food of southern Fujian)?
Chingming馃 has a green outer skin and is mostly made of mugwort or rat jow grass. Every Qingming Festival, families will pick fresh wild mugwort or rat jow grass, clean it and put it into boiling water to cook the leaves, then put it into a rice pounding tool with the scalded rice 馃 to pound the white rice 馃 together with the boiled mugwort or rat jow grass until it is completely blended. Qingming 馃 is soft and hardens when left to stand for a long time. The fillings are sweet and salty, and there are Yuanbao-like and round shapes.
