Journey to the Middle East VI

The country of local tyrants-Dubai (I)

On October 3th, our tour group took a bus to the last stop of this trip, Dubai Emirates.

Dubai Emirates is the second largest emirate in the United Arab Emirates. It covers an area of 3,98 square kilometers and has a population of 2.8 million. The local population accounts for 15% and the foreign population accounts for 85%. Among the foreign population, the largest number are Indians and Pakistanis, and there are about 34, Chinese.

Dubai Emirates, the main economic industries are logistics, trade, finance and real estate, as well as tourism. Dubai Port is the third largest entrepot trade port in the world. Dubai is known as the "trade capital" of the United Arab Emirates and the economic and financial center of the Middle East.

some people say that Dubai is rich because of its oil, which is not entirely correct. In fact, Dubai's oil reserves are very small, and oil is only the first bucket of gold developed in Dubai. Now oil is only a small part of economic income. Dubai has become a "local tyrant" because it can seize business opportunities with geographical advantages. Its rise started with oil, but it is not limited to oil, and it has become an international metropolis through diversified development. Abu Dhabi is 123 kilometers away from Dubai, and the tourist bus takes more than an hour to reach Dubai. When the tourist bus was driving on Sheikh Zayed Avenue, Dubai New Town came into view. Sheikh Zayed Road is named after Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Alnahayan, the first president of the United Arab Emirates. It is a two-way twelve-lane road and runs through Dubai New Town from east to west.

The tour guide introduced us to Dubai yesterday and today, and introduced us to the famous buildings that the bus passed by, so we got a new understanding of Dubai.

Dubai is divided into the old city and the new city. The new city is concentrated on both sides of Sheikh Zayed Road and is the financial center of Dubai. The villa area in the old city is where Arabs live, and the multi-storey Arab-style buildings are mostly residential areas for foreigners. Most of the labor services in Dubai are done by Indians and Pakistanis. It was on the tourist bus that we began to know about Dubai, and the splendor of Dubai's urban architecture surprised us!

Dubai is known as the World Museum of Urban Architecture Art. Dubai is a place where architects can realize their dreams, and it is also a place where you can linger and remember forever. You can use the word "luxury" to describe the urban construction of Dubai, or you can use the word "gorgeous" to praise it. I think it is more appropriate to describe Dubai as "beyond the imagination of the times".
