Bengbu is the birthplace of Flower Drum Lanterns, Sizhou Opera and Fengyang Flower Drum Opera.

Flower Drum Lanterns is a folk dance of the Han Chinese people that combines dance, lantern songs and music of gongs and drums, episodic double (triple) dances, and emotional group dances in a perfect way.

On May 20, 2006, the Flower Drum Lantern was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list, Heritage No. III-6.

Si Zhou Opera:

Si Zhou Opera is one of the four major types of operas in Anhui Province, with a history of more than two hundred years. Many people believe that it originated in the area of Haizhou in northern Jiangsu Province, and that it was originally an improvisational opera sung by local farmers to folk tunes such as "Hunter's Cavity" and "Taiping Song", which was later imported into Sizhou and absorbed by the local folk art of singing, forming the Anhui "Surabaya" opera. The opera was later introduced to Sizhou and absorbed the local folk art of singing, forming the Sizhou Opera of Anhui Province.

On May 20, 2006, the Sizhou Opera was approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China to be included in the first national list of intangible cultural heritage, Heritage No. Ⅳ-62.

Fengyang Flower Drum Opera:

Fengyang Flower Drum Opera (Fengyang Huadu Opera):

It is a kind of traditional Chinese opera and drama in Anhui Province. Known as one of the three flowers of Fengyang (Fengyang Flower Drum, Flower Drum Lantern and Flower Drum Opera), it is also known as Wei Tiao Flower Drum Opera and Wei Tiao Flower Drum because it originated in the town of Changhuaiwei in Fengyang County (now part of the Bengbu city district). The Fengyang Flower Drum Opera originated from the Flower Drum Lantern, and was initially a small backstage opera of the Flower Drum Lantern, which gradually matured into an independent opera in the middle of the Qing Dynasty.

In 2006, Fengyang Flower Drum Opera was selected as one of the first batch of intangible cultural heritages in Anhui Province.
