What is fixed bridge repair?
Fixed bridge, that is, partial denture fixed at both ends, is also called complete fixed bridge. The natural teeth at both ends of the gap between missing teeth are used as abutments (similar to bridge abutments), and the retainers of denture are made on the abutments, which are connected with artificial teeth as a whole. Dentures are glued to the abutment with cement, and patients can't take them off by themselves. The connection between the retainer at both ends and the bridge is fixed. When the retainer is bonded to the abutment, the abutment, the retainer and the bridge are connected into a fixed whole, and the bite force is transmitted to the periodontal tissue through the abutment. Double-ended fixed bridge can not only bear large bite force, but also bear uniform bite force on both abutments, which is the most widely used fixed bridge design form in clinic.
