Teaching design of large-scale open network courses

Due to the large number of learners in large-scale open online courses, which may have a high student-teacher ratio, large-scale open online courses need instructional design that can promote a large number of responses and interactions. The following are two basic design methods:

1. Use large open online course network to deal with public interaction and response, such as peer review and group cooperation.

2. Use an objective and automated online assessment system, such as quizzes, exams and so on.

Principles of Connectionism Teaching Design

1. Aggregation: Connectionist MOOCs allow a large amount of information to spread on different websites online, and then assemble all kinds of information into exchange reports or web pages for participants to read easily. This is contrary to traditional courses, because the content of traditional courses is prepared in advance.

2. Mixed editing: linking the teaching materials or other contents in the course.

3. Re-setting goals: Re-arranging teaching content to meet the goals of different learners.

4. Feedback: Share the teaching contents and ideas arranged according to different learning objectives with other learners or the whole world.
