What are the applications of BIM in construction site management?
Reasonable site layout, positioning and setting-out, field control network survey, construction of roads, pipelines, temporary hydropower facilities, entry of construction materials, schedule arrangement, etc. can be clear at a glance to ensure the orderly construction. Site managers can use BIM to show and introduce site layout, site planning and adjustment, and usage methods to relevant personnel, so as to achieve better communication.
2, schedule management
The traditional schedule control method based on 2D CAD has some problems, such as poor visualization of design project, abstract network plan, unreasonable construction schedule plan and poor communication between participants, which often leads to great deviation between construction schedule and plan in the actual management process.
BIM3D virtual visualization technology simulates the construction process of a construction project, establishes a construction conflict analysis and management system based on 4D information model, and controls the entry time of construction personnel, materials, machinery and other resources in real time to avoid rework and delay the progress.
BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology is a data-based tool applied to engineering design, construction and management. By integrating the data and information models of buildings, they can be shared and transmitted in the whole life cycle of project planning, operation and maintenance.
It enables engineers and technicians to correctly understand and efficiently respond to all kinds of building information, and provides a basis for collaborative work for design teams and construction subjects, including buildings and operating units, which plays an important role in improving production efficiency, saving costs and shortening construction period.
Here, I quote the definition of BIM in American National BIM Standard (NBIMS), which consists of three parts:
(1)BIM is a digital expression of the physical and functional characteristics of a facility (construction project);
(2)BIM is a shared knowledge resource and a process of sharing information about this facility, which provides a reliable basis for all decisions in the whole life cycle of this facility from concept to demolition;
(3) At different stages of the facility, different stakeholders insert, extract, update and modify information in BIM to support and reflect the collaborative work of their respective responsibilities.
