What are the technological disadvantages of resin sand casting?

There are three kinds of furan resins commonly used in resin sand casting, alkaline phenolic resin.

At present, the price of furan resin is more and more expensive, and because furan resin contains nitrogen, it produces a lot of gas and has a greater tendency to thermal cracking.

Alkaline phenolic resin has a long curing time and is not as efficient as furan resin, but it does not have the above disadvantages.

The advantages of resin sand molding are good surface quality and high strength. The biggest disadvantage is that it can't be mass-produced. Modeling can only be done by hand.
