Extended data:
The characteristic of Changquan is that when shooting or kicking, it is mainly to release long shots, play long distances, move long and stretch, and keep the muscles straight. Sometimes when punching, the hitting point is lengthened by twisting the waist and shoulders to give play to the advantage of "one inch longer and one inch stronger". Routine movements and passing times are generally more, and short punches are sometimes used in long punches, but the whole set of movements is mainly long strokes.
The word "Changquan" was first recorded in Ji Xiaoshu's Summary of Boxing Classics by Qi Jiguang in the Ming Dynasty: "In the Boxer Rebellion in ancient and modern times, Song Taizu had 32 potential Changquan." In the middle of Qing Dynasty, Taiji Changquan spread again. Wang Zongyue's Thirteen Poems said: "Those who have been boxing for a long time are like the Yangtze River and the sea." The "Changquan" mentioned here is actually Tai Ji Chuan, which is far from today's Changquan, and it is two kinds of boxing with completely different contents and characteristics.
