What is the working principle of traditional film camera?

Film camera uses silver salt (mainly silver bromide AgBr) photosensitive material attached to plastic film as carrier. After shooting, the film has to be developed to get the photos. When shooting, it is impossible to know whether the shooting effect is good or not, and the photos cannot be deleted.

The color and grain of the film presented by chemical method are unique, and each frame is unique. Different film models and brands bring different color styles, which only people who play film can understand.

Advantages and disadvantages of film cameras

The storage medium of digital camera is sensor, while the sensor of ordinary digital SLR is APS-C frame, that is, one end is blocked at the left and right ends of Quan Huafu, and the aspect ratio is 3:2(23.4* 15.6), which is the same as that of 135 film. High-end digital SLR can achieve Quan Huafu, that is, the same frame as 135 film.

Due to the limitation of technical conditions, the imaging of digital camera can not achieve the high texture and high layering of film machine imaging. The imaging latitude of ordinary digital cameras is about 10, and the latitude of high-end digital SLR can reach 14 to 15.

The width of ordinary color film is around 15, and the width of black and white film can even reach 17 to 19. As far as imaging quality is concerned, digital cameras can't compare with film cameras.

Film often needs to go through two steps: developing and scanning. The fineness of the picture has a great relationship with the scanning accuracy. Advanced scanners can scan pixels around 1200W (35mm film), while digital SLR does not have this problem, and the pixel accuracy is often fixed.
