Asian Music in South Asia

The ancient musical traditions of South Asia continue to this day. The melodic and rhythmic systems of Indian classical music are highly developed, with a variety of syllabic modes and unique ornamentation systems. Bangladesh is known as the "State of Music", and the music of Bangladesh has a deep relationship with the classical and folk music of the Indian subcontinent.
