Gearboxes can be roughly divided into manual gearboxes and automatic gearboxes. If you had been in contact with cars more than ten years ago or even earlier, you must be familiar with manual gearboxes. Even now, many people will still take the C 1 driver's license when learning to drive. I believe that even many old drivers will never forget the fear of being dominated by "de-oiling cooperation" and "semi-trailer". But to be honest, because in our daily life, we can hardly see manual transmission models, and manual transmission models often test the driver's driving experience and technology. The manual gearbox itself has a simple structure and a relatively low price, which is beyond our overall discussion.

There are many kinds of automatic gearboxes. AT present, there are mainly four kinds of automatic gearboxes in the market, namely, hydraulic automatic gearboxes (AT), mechanical continuously variable gearboxes (CVT), electronically controlled mechanical automatic gearboxes (AMT) and dual-clutch automatic gearboxes (DCT).

The electronically controlled mechanical automatic gearbox, namely AMT gearbox, is a kind of automatic gearbox with relatively simple structure, and its basic structure is almost the same as that of manual gearbox, or we can say that AMT gearbox is a manual gearbox with automatic control system, so the advantages of AMT are simple structure and low price, but the disadvantages are large "movement" and poor shift comfort, so almost all mainstream models have eliminated AMT gearbox at present.

Mechanical stepless automatic gearbox, namely CVT gearbox, transmits engine power from the main wheel to the auxiliary wheel through the steel belt and the grooves of two helical gears, and then transmits it to the driving wheel through the main reducer to realize power transmission. Structurally, CVT gearbox is relatively simple, so the cost of CVT gearbox is relatively low. In actual operation, because CVT gearbox has no traditional gear, there is no such thing as shifting gears. The gear on the model equipped with CVT gearbox is actually simulated, just to make the driver feel better, so there is no frustration when shifting gears in other gearboxes, and the ride comfort is naturally better. It's just that there is the possibility of belt slipping in CVT gearbox, so we can hardly see CVT gearbox on high-power models, and the efficiency of CVT gearbox is not very high when the vehicle starts, so the model equipped with CVT gearbox will not be very good in power performance.

Dual-clutch automatic gearbox, namely DCT gearbox, arranges the gearbox on two input shafts connected with odd and even clutches respectively. The shifting process is completed by alternating clutch switching, realizing uninterrupted power shifting. The technology of DCT gearbox is relatively simple and the cost is low, so many domestic manufacturers have begun to independently develop their own DCT gearboxes. Moreover, the transmission efficiency of DCT gearbox is very high, and the shifting speed is also fast, so generally speaking, DCT gearbox will give drivers a better power feeling, but the frustration of DCT gearbox has not been well solved so far, which is also the biggest problem of DCT gearbox at present.

Hydraulic automatic gearbox, that is, at gearbox realizes automatic transmission through the combination of hydraulic transmission and planetary gears. Generally, it consists of hydraulic torque converter, planetary gear mechanism, shift actuator, shift control system, shift control mechanism and other devices. Among many automatic gearboxes, AT gearbox has the most complicated structure and the highest cost, but it is also the most balanced in all aspects. On the one hand, it has better shift speed and transmission efficiency, on the other hand, it has excellent ride comfort performance, and usually AT gearbox is more reliable in structure and has lower probability of problems.

So AT present, among many automatic gearboxes, AT gearbox is usually the best choice.
