Introduction to Lingyan Temple This is a thousand-year-old temple with a long history and rich cultural heritage. It is a Buddhist shrine surrounded by mountains and has a far-reaching charm. It is a thousand-year-old temple in Dalingyan Temple in Shandong Province. You can feel the ethereal silence when you are there. It can be called a religious shrine, a treasure house of cultural relics and an art palace.
Lingyan Temple, located at the northern foot of Mount Tai, is an important part of Taishan culture, the largest existing complete temple in Jiangbei, and an important Zen monastery in history. Lingyan Temple is located on the mountain, rugged, towering ancient trees and magnificent hall. Li Jifu, the prime minister of the Tang Dynasty, named Lingyan Temple, Tiantai National Temple in Zhejiang, dangyang yuquan temple in Hubei, Nanjing in Jiangsu and qixia temple as the four wonders of the region. Lingyan Temple, the first of the "Four Wonders", has become the most famous Buddhist shrine in the Yellow River Basin. Wang Shizhen, a writer in Ming Dynasty, praised after visiting Mount Tai: Lingyan is the most secluded place on the back of Mount Tai. You can't visit Mount Tai without going to Lingyan.
Today, Lingyan Temple is not only a national key cultural relic protection unit, a national-level scenic spot and the first batch of 4a-level tourist attractions in China, but also listed as a "world nature and culture" double heritage unit together with Mount Tai in 1987.
There are many cultural relics and historical sites in the temple, and the natural scenery is beautiful: there are 40 painted sculptures of Luohan in the Song Dynasty, which is known as the "first sculpture on the sea"; The only brick tower with dense eaves in China; And the tomb tower forest known as the "Open-air Stone Carving Art Museum".
Lingyan Temple was founded in 35 1 year of Eastern Jin Dynasty. Founded by the monk Lang Gong, it flourished in the Northern Wei Dynasty and in the Tang and Song Dynasties. At its peak, there were more than 2,000 monks and more than 500 meditation rooms in the temple. Since the Song Dynasty, the abbot of the temple has been appointed by the emperor. Since ancient times, there has been a saying that if there is Mount Tai in the world, there must be Lingyan first. Tang Gaozong Li Zhi and Wu Zetian went to Mount Tai to meditate and led many people to stay in Lingyan Temple for more than ten days. Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty visited Jiangnan six times and Lingyan eight times, leaving more than 100 poems.
Thousand Buddha Hall is the main building of Lingyan Temple, and it is also the best preserved and largest ancient building in the temple. Named after the thousands of buddhas in the temple. Most tourists and experts in the temple are full of praise for the 40 painted sculptures of Luohan in the Song Dynasty on both sides of the temple. In the eleventh year of the Republic of China, Mr. Liang Qichao called it: the first plastic in the country. Luohan statues are all sitting on 80 cm high brick corsets, slightly larger than real people, and the standing height is about 1.85 to 1.90 meters. Ancient artists broke the traditional modeling mode when creating arhat statues, focusing on realism and maintaining a certain secular atmosphere and real life interest. They use shapes, expressions and feelings to describe the inner world of Luohan statue, making it vivid and close to life. The folds and textures of Lohan's clothes are also very natural and smooth, and the facial expressions are vivid and lifelike. Even the lines of Adam's apple, clavicle and hand veins are clearly visible. 1982, when repairing the Luohan statue, it was also found that their abdominal cavity was made of silk, which was exactly the same as the real life. Liu Haisu praised it as: Lingyan is famous for its sculpture, ranking first in the world, with flesh and blood, which is lifelike.
They were all made of ordinary yellow mud. They make a wooden skeleton in advance, then use reeds and grass as basic prototypes, and then press the mud out to make high-quality embryos. Painting after drying in the shade, painting with techniques such as point, brush, painting and tracing, drawing details, and embedding glass beads into eyes to make them vivid and vivid.
On the southeast hill outside the temple, there is a cassock, leaning on crutches, like an old monk's stone. Legend has it that this is the incarnation of Langgong, the founder of Lingyan Temple, and later called Langgong Stone.
Jinan is famous as a spring city in the world, which naturally endows Lingyan Temple with beautiful caves and rocks. Among them, the origin of five steps and three springs is even more legendary under the historical background of the Millennium ancient temple.
According to legend, during the filial piety of the Northern Wei Dynasty, monks came here to build temples, with green snakes leading the way and white tigers carrying scriptures. Walking, I saw steep walls everywhere, and there was no way to go, so the Buddhist monk sat on the wall. On July 49, he moved the sun god and shot through the cliff. A beam of light passes through the cave to form a legal guide. When I came to the foot of the mountain, I met an old man carrying firewood. He asked about the water source legally. The old man didn't say anything, just pointed with his hand and two cranes flew in front of him. Two-eye springs spewed out along the place where the double cranes flew, namely Baihe Spring and Shuanghe Spring. Legally speaking, I am very happy. I leaned against the ground with my mord, and then the spring suddenly rose. This is today's Zhuoxi Spring. Because the three springs are not far apart, it is called five steps and three springs.
Not far from Zhuoxi Spring is the Robe Spring. Named after a cast iron block shaped like a cassock standing beside the spring, the spring is full of spring eyes and is the main drinking water source of the temple. According to legend, it was doused on the spot when Fazu built the temple.
The mountain is not high, but the spring is in the spirit. There are not only grotesque caves on Lingyan Mountain, but also many famous springs that are endless all year round, such as Ganlu Spring, Tanbao Spring and Yinquan.
Wandering in the elegant and quiet forest, the graceful and clever piano sound makes people relaxed and happy. In this ancient temple with a long history, there is a wisp of spring water and a series of legends, which makes Lingyan Temple still maintain its graceful temperament in the historical changes.
Lingyan Temple, the so-called landmark building without pagodas, was built in Song Chunhua for five years, that is, in 994 AD, and it took 63 years to build it by hoarding soil. It is self-evident that the project is huge and the structure is complex. This tower is an octagonal nine-story pavilion-style brick tower with a height of 54 meters. The base of the tower is an octagonal column, and each corner is carved with a Totalix corner. The octagonal relief of Taki is carved with the story of Ashoka's conversion to Buddhism in ancient India. The tower is made of blue bricks, and each floor has a waist eaves. There are steps on the first to fourth floors of the tower, so you can go up the steps. The fifth to ninth floors are solid. The tower must turn left 90 degrees along the outer eaves of the tower and enter the upper door opening. There is an iron tower brake at the top of the tower, which consists of the moon, the dew plate and the orb. At the top of the tower, there are eight king kong lux pulling eight chains, which extend underground in the tower and act as lightning rods. Ceng Gong, a poet, once praised that the statutory meditation room faces a steep valley, and the Lingta is crowned with mountains.
Tallinn in Lingyan Temple is the graveyard of monks in past dynasties. There are 167 tombs and 8/kloc-0 epitaphs from the Northern Wei Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty, which is the largest stone tomb pagoda forest in China. Towers have different shapes, which are basically divided into six shapes: bell tower, drum tower, square tower, pavilion tower, warp tower and Lama tower. The tomb tower itself is a stone carving, and each tower consists of three parts: tower foundation, tower body and tower brake. The relief of the tower foundation is particularly exquisite. In addition to Totalix, Beasts and Lions and _ _, there are also contents that reflect the interest of folk life. The stone pagoda is exquisitely carved, reasonably laid out and lifelike, and it is a rare open-air stone carving art museum.
Located at the highest point in Tallinn is the third-generation tomb tower of Lingyan Temple, which was built in Tianbao period of Tang Dynasty and is a single-story stone tower with stone structure. The top of the tower has two eaves, and the door is carved with exquisite reliefs such as lion gate, prostitute music and flying sky. It has three doors, the south gate is the main entrance, and the east and west sides are fake doors. In the east, an old man with a mord pushed the door and entered. In the west, a man came out with a bright lamp and represented the world through practice. After a hundred years, he died in Elysium and was reborn.
A complete tomb tower generally consists of four parts: stone tower, altar, incense burner and epitaph. The inscription on the tablet records the life achievements of monk Dade. The only brick tower in Tallinn is the cemetery of the second-generation ancestor of Lingyan Temple, and the whole Tallinn is built around him.
Tallinn witnessed the rise and fall of Lingyan Temple. Being in it, people not only lamented the wisdom of ancient craftsmen, but also lamented the supreme cultivation of monks and the great virtue of temples.
There are many famous mountains and monks in the world, and most of the temples are built in feng shui treasures. Lingyan Temple has lush vegetation and towering old trees. In ancient poetry, Lingyan is peculiar, overshadowing the reputation of thousands of mountains in the south of the Yangtze River. There are over 800 ancient trees in the temple. After thousands of years of wind and frost, it is still flourishing and full of vitality. Among them, the most striking is the ebony tree, which is extremely rare in the north. This ebony tree grows on the doorway, and its roots are intertwined and it grows very luxuriantly. Looking from a distance, it looks like a piece of auspicious clouds, called Chitose Yuntan. It is attached to a branch and looks like a proud peacock, also known as Tan Feng.
Lingyan Temple has a beautiful natural environment and rich cultural landscape. Scholars, dignitaries and celebrities of past dynasties followed suit, leaving Mo Bao behind. There are many Hua Zhang and a large number of stone tablets left for Lingyan Temple, the most famous of which is Li Yong's Poem on Lingyan Temple, which has the highest cultural value.

Melodious bells are full of people's longing for a beautiful new year.
The four seasons cycle, and the years pass. Only the ancient temple of peacekeeping still has a faint fragrance, and the bells in the distance keep telling the past.
