Disadvantages of round-wing aircraft

Circular wing aircraft is a kind of aircraft, also known as story aircraft or flying wing aircraft. Compared with the traditional fixed-wing aircraft, the circular-wing aircraft has the following disadvantages:

1. poor stability: the stability of circular-wing aircraft is poor, especially when flying at low speed and taking off and landing. Without the help of vertical tail, circular-wing aircraft are more susceptible to crosswind and roll.

2. Complex flight control: The flight control of rotary-wing aircraft is relatively complex, and accurate control can only be achieved with the help of electronic flight control system. In contrast, the control of traditional fixed-wing aircraft is relatively simple and direct.

3. Poor wind resistance: Due to the flight characteristics and maneuverability of circular-wing aircraft, its wind resistance is worse than that of traditional aircraft. In strong winds and bad weather conditions, circular-wing aircraft are more vulnerable to wind interference.

4. Speed limitation: Due to the design characteristics of circular-wing aircraft, its speed is relatively slow. Compared with the traditional jet plane, the circular wing plane has a lower cruising speed, so it is suitable for short flight or slow cruising.

It should be noted that circular-wing aircraft also has its advantages, such as lower aerodynamic drag, higher cargo capacity and longer battery life. However, due to its shortcomings and special design, round-wing aircraft is not the mainstream civil aviation aircraft at present. Generally speaking, when choosing an aircraft, it is necessary to determine whether it is suitable to use a round-wing aircraft according to the actual demand and operating environment.
