What do you mean, this is the second spring?
The Second Plum Blossom actually originated from the novel The Second Plum Blossom compiled by the owner of Xiyintang, which was performed in both Beijing Opera and Yue Opera. The novel describes the love story between Mei Liangyu and Chen Xingyuan: In the Tang Dynasty, Mei's father was framed by Qi Lu, the prime minister of the dynasty, and prayed at the night when the plum blossom was blown down by the strong wind: if the plum blossom reopened, his father's grievances would be redressed. Plum blossoms bloom for the second time, and then Liangyu and Chen Xingyuan meet again.
