The 800-word composition about traditional culture is not a dream, but my dream.
Although my hometown is in other provinces, I was born in Wenzhou and studied here, so I found many new things suitable for me. For example, there is a Maitreya Buddha sculpture in my home, which is touching and lifelike, and every detail, even the tiny folds between cuffs, are reflected. My elders said it was boxwood carving, which was very precious and aroused my curiosity.
So I checked the relevant information, and it turns out that the boxwood carving is from Yueqing City, Wenzhou, and it is a national intangible cultural heritage. According to information, boxwood carving was first discovered by a cowherd named Ye in the late Qing Dynasty. In the temple, he followed an old man to learn skills such as round carving, clay sculpture, painting, gilding and relief. By chance, he found that boxwood was the first-class material for carving, so the folk art boxwood carving was born.
By consulting boxwood carving, I have a certain understanding of boxwood as a raw material. Boxwood is tough and delicate, its surface color is like ivory, its connotation is simple, and it will deepen with the passage of time, so it is usually used for carving. However, due to its slow growth, there are few large pieces of furniture.
I like boxwood carving very much, not only because it is elegant and beautiful, but more importantly, it is an indispensable excellent craft of the Chinese nation. Boxwood carving contains the wisdom and skills of carving masters, represents the spiritual wealth of Wenzhou people for a long time, and adds a lot to the creation of a historical and cultural city in Wenzhou!
Culture is precious because of the precipitation of history, but the torrent of history will always sweep it away quietly. Nowadays, intangible cultural heritage is in danger of being lost, and boxwood carving is also in trouble. Complex technology, lack of materials, poor technology, all kinds of problems are in front of everyone. In order to understand the current situation in boxwood carving, I also went to several wooden decoration shops to inquire. Boxwood carvings are expensive and rare, and stores are reluctant to buy them for profit. It can be seen that boxwood carving urgently needs the attention of the government and the public. Compared with other carved works of art, the fineness of each process is different, and it is worth protecting because of its complexity and fineness. But it is not just boxwood carving, it is more like a microcosm, a representative, reflecting the plight of intangible cultural heritage. In this era when everyone pursues the Chinese dream, of course, Wenzhou Dream is indispensable. These intangible cultural heritages have written an immortal chapter for history books, and their inheritance and development will be an indispensable part of Wenzhou Dream!
Many problems faced by intangible cultural heritage are not unsolvable. I am willing to contribute my meager strength to boxwood carving, and I am more willing to contribute to intangible cultural heritage. Protecting intangible cultural heritage is the responsibility of hundreds of millions of Chinese children. If there is an indelible dream in everyone's heart, then China's 5,000-year-old cultural crystallization will last forever!
