Criteria for selecting a table tennis racket

I. Rubber racket

This kind of table tennis racket is less elastic, slower to hit the ball, and easy to control the ball. It is easy to control the ball, and it is more stable to control the ball when receiving the opponent's spinning serve and rubbing the ball. However, it is not easy to create strong spin, and is not very fast and powerful when attacking. Therefore, except for a few defense-oriented players, attack-oriented players rarely use this kind of paddle.

The sponge paddle

The sponge paddle is divided into two types:

(1) The sponge paddle is a "cooked" paddle

This kind of paddle has a moderate elasticity of the rubber, and there is a pattern engraved on the grains (there are also some small particles on the surface of the grains). This type of paddle has a moderate elasticity and a pattern on the rubber (there are also some small particles on the surface of the rubber), so it can "eat" the ball when hitting the ball (the deeper the pattern on the rubber, the better the performance of "eating" the ball), and has a high speed. It can generate some spin when serving, rolling and pulling the ball. However, it is not as robust as a rubberized racket in controlling the ball, and does not produce as much spin as a sponge-backed rubberized racket.

This type of paddle is widely used by fast attacking players in China. Generally speaking, people who play with a left-push-right attack and a two-sided attack use this kind of paddle only in the choice of sponge, with the former using a harder sponge and the latter using a softer sponge.

(2) Sponges for "raw" bats

The rubbers of this type of bat have greater elasticity, and the grains of rubber are larger than the grains of "cooked" rubbers, which are generally not patterned (the surface of the grains is smooth). Due to the high rebound force of the rubber, the speed of the ball is fast. In pushing, attacking and hitting back the arc ball, the ball will sink quickly after landing on the table. When blocking short balls with reduced power, the ball does not go forward, so it is better to deal with curved balls. However, because the rubber does not have a pattern, it is easy to slip when touching the ball, and the performance of "eating" the ball is poor. Under normal circumstances, it is not easy to create a significant change in rotation. Only in the serve, rubbing and chipping, such as better explosive power, friction concentration, to produce a strong spin.

This type of paddle is used by some fast attacking players. It is usually used with a thinner sponge to enhance the sinking performance of the ball.

(3) The sponge is attached to the "long" rubber

This kind of rubber is called "long" rubber because the height of the rubber is longer than that of the general rubber (around 1.6-1.9mm); the diameter of the rubber is smaller than that of the general rubber, thus the texture is longer than that of the general rubber. The diameter of the grains is smaller than that of the general rubber, so the texture is softer.

The performance of the "long" racket is: when the ball touches the rubber, because the rubber is thin, long and soft, the rubber is easy to reverse the slope. In the return of the opponent's light pull ball and not rotating rub ball, back to the ball is not rotating ball; back out of the opponent's plus rotating arc ball or blitz ball, back to the ball was downward spiral; back to the opponent's downward spiral hair ball or rub ball, back to the ball was upward spiral. The stronger the spin of the opponent, the stronger the reverse spin of the return ball. In general, this kind of paddle is not easy to create strong spin, and relies mainly on the different spins of the incoming ball to produce the opposite spin. But in some specific cases, such as serving, if you can quickly focus on the friction ball, you can also send out the spin ball; in the middle and far table to receive the surprise ball, with the big arm force to send the ball back, can be chipped out of the non-spinning ball, however, this kind of table tennis paddle on the ball control performance is poor.

The "long" racket is mainly used by players who combine chipping and attacking. In order to utilize the characteristics and offense of the "long" rubber, a thin sponge with a thickness of no more than 1mm is generally used.

There are two main types of sponge backsponge paddles:

(1) Sponge backsponge paddles

This kind of table tennis paddle has a large viscous rubber surface with strong friction: in addition to the rubber particles to the inward, the rebound is small, can "eat" the ball, and can be used as a backstop. The sponge back-pasted rubber racket can take the initiative to create rotational changes (such as the use of serve, rubbing the ball to engage in rotational changes; arc circle type athletes to pull the real and fake arc circle ball; defensive athletes to cut the rotation and non-rotation, etc.). However, the speed of the ball is not as fast as the sponge is attached to the rubber racket, back to the opponent's spinning ball is easier to "eat" turn.

This type of paddle is widely used by spin-oriented attackers, chipping-oriented players, and players who combine chipping and attacking. Attackers use a harder sponge, while attackers use a softer sponge.

(2) "Anti-Arc-Ring" Sponge Racket

This type of racket is a smooth (slightly astringent) rubber that is counter-attached to a sponge that has a loose structure and very little elasticity. Its performance is basically the same as the "long" sponge paddle. The difference is that the "anti-arc circle" sponge rubber racket itself can be added to the rotation, the ball runs slower, the arc is shorter, the ball to the high point of the sudden fall, which is more obvious in the chipping arc circle ball. When blocking and attacking the ball, the ball is not too forward, and sinks quickly after landing on the table.

This type of paddle is mostly used by players who combine chipping and attacking. However, it is also used by some players who are full attackers.

Warm tips: If it is in our daily life to play a little, we do not need to follow the standards of athletes to buy a paddle, there is no need not to say that the price is relatively high!

Standard Table Tennis Racket Size Part 2

The table tennis racket consists of three parts: the backing plate, the rubber and the sponge, and the reasonable matching of the three determines the quality of a racket. There are three types of paddles, namely, the orthopedic sponge paddle, the raw rubber sponge paddle, the reverse rubber sponge paddle, the long rubber sponge paddle, and the defensive sponge paddle. The size, shape and weight of the racket are not limited. However, the backboard should be flat and hard. The thickness of the backboard should be at least 85% natural wood. The bonding of each layer should not exceed 7.5% or 0.35㎜ of the total thickness of the backboard. There are two types of rackets: straight and horizontal.

(1) Commonly used straight racket types: 158mm×152mm (suitable for fast attack), 160mm×152mm (suitable for arc), and 158mm×150mm (large attack).

(2) Commonly used crossboards: 154mm x 148mm (light weight, flexible), 156mm x 150mm (classic), 158mm x 150mm (water droplet) (big attacking power).

Knowledge of Table Tennis Racket

The size, shape and weight of the racket are not limited. However, the backboard should be flat and hard.

The thickness of the blade should be at least 85% natural wood. Reinforcement layers can be made of fibrous materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass or compressed paper, with each layer not exceeding 7.5% of the total thickness of the blade or 0.35 mm.

The racket face used for hitting should be covered with a layer of regular granule adhesive with the granules facing outward, together with the adhesive, not exceeding 2 mm in thickness; or with sponge adhesive with the granules facing inward or outward, together with the adhesive, not exceeding 4 mm in thickness.

"Ordinary granular rubber" is a layer of non-foamed natural or synthetic rubber, the particles of which must be distributed over the entire surface at an average density of not less than 10 and not more than 50 particles per square centimeter.

"Sponge rubber" is a layer of foam rubber covered with a layer of ordinary granular rubber, the thickness of ordinary granular rubber does not exceed 2 mm.

The covering should cover the entire surface of the racket, but not beyond its edges. The part of the racket close to the handle and the part held by the fingers may be left uncovered and may be covered with any material.

The backboard, any interlayer in the backboard, and any coverings and adhesive layers on the hitting side of the racket should be of uniform thickness.

Both sides of the racket, with or without coverings, must be matte and bright red on one side and black on the other.

Slight variations in the integrity and color consistency of the racket surface may occur as a result of accidental damage, wear and tear, or fading. These are permitted as long as they do not significantly alter the performance of the racket.

When a player needs to change rackets at the start of a match and during the course of a match, he must show his opponent and the referee the racket he is going to use and allow them to inspect it.

Standard Table Tennis Racket Sizes Part 3

The rubbers on a table tennis racket should be no more than 2 millimeters, and the sponge and rubbers should be no more than 4 millimeters

The backing plate is usually around 6.5mm, the backing rubbers are between 1.8mm-2.0mm, the foreglues are between 0.8mm-1.0mm, and the long rubbers are more than 1.5mm.

Selecting a suitable backboard according to the type of play:

(1) Close to the table fast-attacking type - this is the traditional play of the Chinese table tennis team that has been flourishing in the world for decades, and athletes who use this type of play usually use either the front sponge racket or the back sponge racket, which is the most common type of play. The world champions Liu Guoliang and Deng Yaping are the best in this type of playing style. Close to the table fast attack first seeks to hit the ball at a fast pace and speed, and strive to attack the rising point and the highest point of the incoming ball on the table. The hitting action amplitude is small, and it mostly adopts the way of exerting force such as exploding country, borrowing force and adding force. In order to improve the explosive force and suddenness of the small movement hitting, players usually first choose a heavier 'racket, single-sided covered with sponge rubber straight racket base plate weight should be around 95 grams, double-sided covered with sponge rubber racket base plate weight should be lighter, generally in the. 90. grams. The weight should be lighter, generally below 90 grams.

In order to increase the speed of the ball, in order to increase the speed of the ball, in order to hit the arc as low as possible, so more friction less, hit more, so that the ball off the board faster technology, such as: fast, fast pull, fast attack, popping and slamming and other offensive technology. This requires the sponge to be softer and thinner, and the feel of the soleplate to be firmer, so players usually choose a seven-layer plate or a thicker soleplate with a thickness of more than 6.5 millimeters.

In order to ensure the speed of the close-to-the-table attack, close-to-the-table fast attack players usually choose the outward grain of the foreglue or the surface of the viscosity of the medium, shorter grains, the speed of the speed of the counter-glue. Positive rubber is a kind of hard rubber, particle outward and larger rubber, with its faster speed, but also can create a certain spin, usually with a thickness of 1.8-2.1 mm, hardness of about 35 degrees of sponge; counter should be with a thickness of 1.5-2.0 mm, hardness of about 40 degrees of sponge.

(2) arc circle fast attack type - this is a combination of rotation and speed of the arc ball into the Rose type of play, is the current mainstream playing style. The world champion Kong Linghui, Wang Nan, Li Ju and so on belong to this kind of playing style. Athletes use the reverse rubber to rise the sheep racket. Arc circle fast attack playing method for the unity of rotation and speed, so more friction and kill the combination of "whiplash" attacking technology, such as: picking, pulling and charging, anti-tear, anti-strike, wipe, skimming and other technologies. In order to ensure sufficient friction and speed when hitting the ball, the selected trigger should not only have enough depth to eat the ball, but also have enough strength. Therefore, athletes tend to choose the softer wood, good elasticity of a thick (millimeters) or thinner (5.5-6.0 millimeters) of the five-layer baseboard. Arc circle fast attack technology in more than wide game using changes in speed and rhythm, sometimes close to the stage, sometimes off the stage, sometimes hit the incoming ball of the rising period, high point period, sometimes hit the falling period, so not only a wide range of movement, but also hit the ball movement amplitude is larger, more independent power, which begs for lighter weight racket to ensure that in the fast hit swing freely, feel better. So the choice of straight board is generally about 85 grams, especially the double-sided sponge rubber covered straight board should be even lighter; cross-bladed board should also be under 90 grams. In order to ensure the rotation of the arc attack, you should choose a better surface adhesion, slightly longer particles of the back rubber; in order to ensure the speed of the attack of the draw, you should choose a harder (45 degrees or more) thicker (2.1-2.2 mm) sponge.

(C) fast attack combined with arc circle offensive play - this play will be fast attack technology and arc circle technology combined together, with the characteristics of the two playing styles, usually using a backsponge racket or one side of the backsponge, one side of the raw rubber sponge racket, such as the world champion Wang Tao, Wang Chen, as well as Yan Sen, Marin and other national players. The fast attack combined with the arc circle offense type of play seeks to choose both fast attack and can pull the arc circle ball of the board, for fast attack and arc circle ball combination. Arc circle ball use more people should choose a softer feel, and the thickness of the thinner five-layer backboard, on the contrary, fast attack technology to use more people need to choose a hard, thicker seven-layer backboard. The thickness of the backboard is usually around 6.5mm, and the weight of the backboard for single-sided sponge rubber is around 90 grams, while the weight of the backboard for double-sided sponge rubber should be below 85 grams; the weight of the crossboard is usually between 90-95 grams. The backsponge can be 2.1 millimeters thick, the hardness of the sponge in about 45 degrees, because most of the crossboard backhand attack in the near table, so the sponge used for backhand shots should be thinner than the forehand, more conducive to the use of fast attack technology.

Some people choose to use raw rubber sponge fast attack, raw rubber is a kind of gum soft, elastic and large particles of the positive rubber, with its fast attack speed, but the rotation is poor, so the attack arc is flat (sinking), choose the corresponding sponge degree of 1.8-2.0 mm, hardness of 35 degrees or so; there are also people who use the long rubber or semi-long rubber attack. Long rubber particles will be overwhelmed by the incoming ball at the moment of hitting, and immediately rebound from different directions, so it is not easy to rub the incoming ball to create independent spin, so the ball is mostly hit with the incoming ball's counter-spin. At the same time, due to the different directions of the particles, the direction of the rebound force is not the same, so the arc of the return ball is erratic. Long rubber attack usually choose the sponge thickness of 1.0-1.5 mm, and Jiedu higher, so as to maintain a certain hitting speed, but also to make the return arc fluctuating sinking.

(D) attack, chipping combined type of play - this play although called attack, chipping combined, but by no means attack, chipping each accounted for 50%, some people will serve to attack, chipping counter-attack as the main means of scoring, chipping changes are only to disturb the opponent, creating opportunities, such as the world champion Ding Song is so, initially, many people think that he is a defensive athlete, take him as a defensive player, and then he is a defensive athlete. Many people initially thought that he was a defensive athlete, and played him as a defensive ball and suffered a big loss; there are also people who use chipping changes as the main means of scoring, and the offense is just a means of disturbing the other side of the war, such as the national player Wang Hui and so on. Attacking, chipping combined playing style athletes, due to technical mastery must be very comprehensive, in order to ensure that the rotation of chipping and arc circle attack, usually choose the surface of the viscous better, slightly longer particles of the back rubber; in order to ensure that its chipping, good control of the defense, and often pick the thickness of the sponge is moderate (1.5-2.0 mm) and soft, hard and moderate (about 40 degrees). The core of the combination of attacking and chipping is "change"---- spin change, attacking and chipping change, landing point change and rhythm change, etc. Therefore, the racket chosen also fully reflects and adapts to this change. Many people choose to use two-sided performance of different rackets, such as one side of the sea of anti-glue for active changes in rotation and attack, the other side of the option to use the thickness of 0.8 millimeters below the very thin sponge with the long glue or glue, raw rubber; some people use anti-arc rubber, which is a kind of elasticity of low, non-sticky surface of the anti-glue with the thickness of 1.5 millimeters or so very soft low elasticity of sponge used for chipping ball control and change. The baseboards used in the combination of attacking and chipping are usually larger, so that the boarders are softer and can control the ball for a longer period of time. A larger board allows the center of gravity of the ball to shift forward, which also facilitates off-table shots.
