Where is peacock dance from?
Peacock dance is the most famous traditional dance among the Dai folk dances in China. It is popular in Xishuangbanna, Mengding and other places where Dai people live in compact communities, among which peacock dance in Ruili City in western Yunnan is the most representative. In the minds of the Dai people, the "bird of God" peacock is a symbol of happiness and good luck. So many people will keep peacocks at home.
