Why does the pressure cooker vent from the small hole above the handle?

There is a small piston in the hole above the handle, which is an insurance mechanism and has two functions:

1. After heating, the air inside expands due to heating, water begins to evaporate into steam, the pressure gradually increases, and the mixed gas is discharged from the small hole, making it become pure water steam;

2. The air is exhausted and there is pure water vapor inside. When the air pressure rises to the specified value, the pressure pushes the small piston to rise, blocking the small hole and preventing air leakage. This small piston is also a protective bolt, so the locking handle cannot be rotated to open the cover, so as not to accidentally open the explosion and hurt people. After the ceasefire, the pressure drops to a safe value, and the safety bolt falls, so that the pot cover can be opened safely.

If this hole keeps leaking steam and the pressure does not rise, there is something wrong.

Instructions for use of pressure cooker

(1) Before each use, carefully check whether the exhaust hole of the pressure-limiting valve is unobstructed (it can be cleaned with a toothpick) and keep the anti-blocking cover clean;

(2) The food in the pot should not be too full, generally not exceeding four fifths of the pot height. For foods that are prone to flatulence (such as kelp, mung beans, corn, etc. ), do not exceed half of the pot body;

(3) When closing the lid, mark the lid and the pot body and fasten them completely. Stop where you are, don't overdo it;

(4) After the sealing cover is heated, when more steam is discharged from the pressure limiting vent, the pressure valve cover is buckled;

(5) When the pressure limiting valve is working, turn down the firepower and keep the pressure limiting valve inching;

(6) Before opening the cover, the cover can only be opened after the pressure is completely reduced, that is, the valve core of the protection device is lowered and reset. Do not pull the handle hard;

(7) General pressure cookers stipulate that the safe service life shall not exceed eight years.

Electric pressure cooker should pay attention to:

① Pressure control safety device: During use, if the pressure exceeds the set value, it can automatically cut off the power supply.

② Pressure relief safety device: When the pressure limiting safety device fails, the pressure relief mechanism works, so that the inner periphery of the pot can be automatically exhausted and pressure relieved to ensure that the pot will not explode.

③ Pressure-limiting safety device: When the air pressure in the pot rises to the upper limit, the pressure-limiting safety valve automatically exhausts and limits the pressure.

④ Power-off memory protection device: it can automatically continue to set functions before power-off, when the power cord is disconnected, a new phone is connected or the power supply is turned on.

⑤ Temperature limiting safety device: When the temperature in the pot rises to the limit, the power supply will be cut off automatically.

⑥ Anti-blocking safety device: to prevent food from blocking the exhaust valve and ensure that the exhaust valve is unobstructed.

⑦ Safety device for opening and closing the lid: When the lid and the pot body are not fastened firmly, the air pressure in the pot cannot rise. When the air pressure in the pot is higher than the safe value, the pot cover cannot be opened.

⑧ Overtemperature safety device: When the pot is burned empty or the temperature in the pot exceeds the set safety value, the power supply will be automatically cut off.

How to prevent the explosion of pressure cooker

(1) Before use, carefully check whether the air holes on the lid seat are clear and the safety plug is in good condition.

(2) The food in the pot should not exceed 4/5 of the capacity. When closing the lid, it must be screwed into the slot, and the upper and lower handles should be aligned. When cooking, press the pressure valve again when the steam starts to be discharged from the air hole.

(3) When the temperature rises to the point where the pressure limiting valve hisses loudly, the temperature shall be lowered immediately.

(4) If the safety plug is found to exhaust during cooking, it shall be replaced with a new fusible piece in time, and it shall not be blocked with iron wire or cloth.
