Calculation formula of volatile sludge concentration

Sludge index:

SVI (ml/g) = v/(w2–w1)

Sludge volume index refers to the volume (mL) of sludge deposited per gram of dry sludge after the mixed liquor at the outlet of aeration tank is left standing for 30 minutes, and the unit is ml/g. Sludge volume index is an index indicating the coagulation, sedimentation and concentration performance of activated sludge. When SVI is low, the sedimentation performance is good, but the adsorption performance is poor.
