May I ask, when did traditional Chinese characters come into existence?

In Chinese history, from the ancient times to the Western Han Dynasty, the official standardized fonts differed significantly from the modern traditional Chinese fonts. It was not until the Qin Dynasty (221 BC - 207 BC) that the official script, which was prevalent in the Eastern Han Dynasty, appeared and became closer to the modern traditional script. The standardized Chinese characters issued by the imperial court through the preparation of "Zishu" (字书), as opposed to the various simplified characters spontaneously used by the people, had official authority. However, seal script was still used for jade seals and official seals at all levels in the dynasties after the Qin Dynasty. Mainland China began to formulate and implement simplified characters in 1956. Since then, simplified characters have become the standardized Chinese characters in mainland China. Traditional Chinese characters are the traditional Chinese characters as opposed to the simplified characters.

In August 1935 the Ministry of Education of the National Government published the First List of Simplified Chinese Characters, a ****collection of 324 popular, ancient and cursive characters that were the most widely circulated among the people. However, because of the controversy, in February of the following year, the First Batch of Simplified Chinese Characters Table was withdrawn....... The two descriptions of the First Batch of Simplified Chinese Characters Table of the Republic of China are as follows:1) Simplified Chinese Characters are the characters with simplified strokes and are easy to recognize and write, and they are different from the orthographics, and can be used to replace the traditional orthographics.2) The simplified Chinese characters listed in the Table include the popular, ancient, and cursive characters, and other forms. The simplified characters listed in this table include common characters, ancient characters, and cursive characters. The most common characters are "体、宝、岩、蚕", ancient characters such as "气、无、处、广", and cursive characters such as "时、实、為、会", all of which have been in use for a long time.
