What are the fertilization management of garden trees?

(1) Fertilization period

In production, fertilization period is generally divided into base fertilizer and topdressing. The application period of base fertilizer should be early, and top dressing should be skillful. Base fertilizer is a kind of basic fertilizer, which provides nutrients for trees for a long time. Therefore, it is appropriate to apply slow-release organic fertilizer. In some northern provinces, basal fertilizer is mostly applied around the autumnal equinox, but the time should be sooner rather than later, especially for flower viewing, fruit viewing and tree species introduced from the south, which can not stop the growth of trees in time and reduce their wintering ability.

In production, the topdressing period is divided into early topdressing and late topdressing. Topdressing in the early stage can be divided into topdressing before flowering, topdressing after flowering and topdressing during flower bud differentiation. Top dressing before flowering and late dressing are similar to basal dressing, and can be omitted when conditions do not permit. Topdressing 1 ~ 2 times a year in the general growth period is good for street trees and landscape trees planted for 2 ~ 3 years.

(2) Fertilization amount

Fertilization amount is affected by many factors, such as tree species, soil, fertilizer types, fertilizer requirements in each phenological period, etc., and it is difficult to determine a unified standard. Excessive or insufficient fertilization has a negative impact on the growth and development of trees. Fertilize more when soil conditions are poor; Large trees with more flowers and fruits should be fertilized more than small trees with less flowers and fruits; If the tree is weak, it should also be fertilized more. Where conditions permit, the appropriate fertilization amount can be determined according to soil analysis and leaf analysis.

(3) Fertilization method

It can be divided into two categories: soil fertilization and topdressing outside the roots. Soil fertilization methods include ring fertilization, radial furrow fertilization, hole fertilization and sowing fertilization.

1. Ring fertilization

Excavate a 30-40 cm wide annular ditch along the outer edge of the crown orthographic projection line, apply fertilizer in the ditch, and the soil on the ditch will be solid and flat. This method can ensure uniform fertilization at the roots.

2. Radial furrow fertilization

Taking the trunk as the center, 4-6 deep ditches are dug, the length of which is slightly beyond the outer edge of the orthographic projection line of the crown. Fertilize the ditch and cover it with soil. This fertilization method can ensure that the roots of the inner chamber can also be fertilized.

3. Acupoint application

Dig a single hole at the outer edge of the orthogonal projection line of the crown, and after applying fertilizer, the soil on it will be solid and level with the ground. This method is simple and labor-saving.

4. Sassi

Sprinkle fertilizer near the base of the trunk, and then irrigate it to make the fertilizer penetrate into the roots of trees with water. This fertilization method is usually combined with irrigation, which is simple and labor-saving, but the fertilizer utilization rate is lower than that of hole application and furrow application.
