How to Evaluate the Craft Level of Ni Xing Pottery in Qinzhou

Nixing pottery, Qinzhou, Ni Xing Guitao for short, takes the purple mud peculiar to the east and west banks of Qinjiang River in Qinzhou City, Guangxi as raw material, and seals the east mud. After the west mud is retrieved, it is broken, dissolved and oxidized by the sun and rain for more than four to six months, reaching the weathering state. Then it is crushed and mixed according to the ratio of 4 to 6 to make a ceramic blank. The east mud is as soft as meat, and the west mud is as hard as bone. Blood and flesh can support each other, and Ni Xing pottery is formed by Ni Xing pottery firing technology.

Therefore, Ni Xing pottery in Qinzhou is recognized as one of the two treasures with the most national characteristics in Guangxi. It is also one of the most famous specialties in Qinzhou.

Nixing pottery is one of the four famous pottery in China. On June 7th, 2008, the State Council approved the pottery firing technique of Ni Xing in Qinzhou, Guangxi as a national intangible cultural heritage.
