Chinese literacy textbooks dedicated to enlightenment appeared at a very early stage, including the Cangjie Chapters and the Zuanli Chapters during the Qin Dynasty, the Fanwang Chapters of Sima Xiangru, the Pangxi Chapters of Jia Boryu, the Persuasive Chapters of Cai Yong, and the Rapid Achievement Chapters of Shi You, during the Three Kingdoms period, and the Bei Cang, Guang Cang, and the Beginning of Learning Chapters during the Three Kingdoms period.
