During which period in China's history were bronzes used?
Bronze was used as early as Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties, because bronze was a relatively easy metal to smelt at that time. At first, it was a practical product, such as a tripod as a pot, a sword as a weapon and a bronze mirror as a vessel. Later, due to the gradual popularization of ironware, bronzes gradually withdrew from the historical stage, but they were still used as ritual vessels, that is, symbolic significance was greater than practical significance. Bronzes should have been used until the Han Dynasty.
