What are the traditional plays of Henan Opera?
There are more than 1000 traditional plays of Henan Opera, a large part of which are based on historical novels and legends. Such as drama, Three Kingdoms, Wagang, Bao Gong, Yang Jiajiang, Yue Jia Jiang, and a large number of dramas describing marriage, love and ethics. According to the statistics of 1956, there are 647 traditional plays. The most representative ones are Chasing Huan, Sanshangjiao, Cosmic Frontline, Ditangban, Ladder Mouth, My Beauty Case, Twelve Widows' Journey to the West, Spring and Autumn Match, etc. Starting from 1949, we have arranged and adapted traditional plays, such as Matchmaker, Mulan, Mu Guai Shuai, Breaking the Flood State, Examining the Imperial edict of the Tang Magistrate, Playing Golden Branches, Three Crys Hall, etc. Modern dramas created and adapted include Chaoyanggou, Liu Hulan, Li Shuangshuang, People Joking, and many plays such as Disciple Rules, Arhat Money, Sister Xianglin, Five Girls and Red women soldiers. Among them, Mulan, Hua Da Chao, Mu Shuai, Van Gogh Palace, Luoyang Bridge, Seven Sesame Officials, Qin Xianglian, Bao Qingtian, Chaoyanggou, Fast Horse and Wind and Snow Match have all been made into films.
