How much do you know about some Japanese customs?

Some of the Japanese customs that I know are as follows:

Japan tends to spend the New Year with the following customs:

Firstly, Japan eats a rich meal during the New Year, but still focuses on traditional foods.

On New Year's Day Japan generally eats traditional ojako as well as okonomiyaki. These two foods have a very long history in Japan, as the Japanese believe that if you eat boiled food or use a fireplace for three days in a row before the New Year, you will have good luck for the rest of the year. That's why every Japanese family prepares stews and cooked food in advance of the New Year.

The Japanese believe that eating this kind of food on New Year's Day signifies good health, happiness and peace in the coming year. Families gather around to eat the stew. The assorted food is usually rice cakes and vegetables cooked together in a soup. The Japanese do not eat it like Chinese hot pot, where it is carefully divided into portions and eaten as a group.

Second: The Japanese will use medicinal wine to pray for blessings.

Almost every family in Japan makes their own sake, especially on New Year's Day when every family makes their own medicinal wine. On New Year's Day, they take out the medicinal wine, and the whole family gathers around to drink the wine, which contains a variety of herbs and Chinese herbs, so that after drinking it they are free from illness and pain, and remove the bad luck from their bodies, and the coming year will be full of good luck. Of course the ritual of this medicinal wine trumps the actual content, just take a taste, you don't have to drink it all.

Third: Go to the temple and make a wish for good luck.

It is a tradition in Japan to go to the local shrine or nearest temple on New Year's Day to pray for blessings. You can throw money at the shrine, and then you can pray to the shrine and make a wish, and you can also ask for a sign to find out the luck of the new year, and you need to buy a new amulet inside the shrine, and last year's amulet has to be burned inside the shrine so that the ceremony can be considered to be completed.
