Like the form of Lantern Festival in the mainland, the custom of Lantern Festival in Hainan revolves around the word "noisy". The tenth five-year plan is developing vigorously. This night, all parts of Hainan were decorated with lanterns and colorful decorations, and people were everywhere, which was very festive. In fact, there are many customs similar to the Lantern Festival in Hainan, but each has its own characteristics. There is a saying that "three miles is different from the wind, and ten miles is different from the customs."

Haikou Fucheng: In the past, it was no exaggeration to compare Fucheng on the fifteenth day of the first month to an ocean of flowers. On this day, Haikou Fucheng became a big garden with flowers everywhere, and the stalls selling flowers stretched for hundreds of meters. With the arrival of the night, the climax of the Flower Festival is about to begin. People flock to all the open spaces in Fucheng like a flood, trying to find their favorite people in all kinds of "passing by" and put on flowers to congratulate them. When young people come to Fucheng, the "Flower Festival" is really a heart-to-heart exchange activity, which is somewhat similar to the TV blind date program "If You Are the One". The flowers between women represent the first class. With luck, it is really possible to get a girlfriend. No wonder many people call the Fucheng Flower Festival "Valentine's Day" in Hainan.

Today, the "Flower Festival" has been listed as one of the five major folk art activities in Hainan. It is understood that the Flower-changing Festival combines the customs of Li and Han nationalities and evolved from traditional living habits. According to historical records, it began in the first year of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty, lasted-1400 years, and prevailed in the Song and Yuan Dynasties. Of course, the earliest residents of Fucheng did not change flowers, but changed incense. Sometimes it is called "Fragrance Changing Festival", which means endless incense and symbolizes truth, peace, celebration, friendship, prosperity and admiration.

On May 15, the Lantern Festival, with a century-old tradition, was held as scheduled in qiongshan district, Hainan. At the same time, nine activities, such as lantern festival, painting and calligraphy exhibition, lantern riddle outing and flower dance performance, with the theme of "Thousand Lights in Spring" also officially kicked off.

It is understood that "loading horses" is a century-old traditional custom of Haikou Fucheng. According to legend, in Fucheng area, some elderly locals used to dress up as characters in ancient dramas to ride horses to celebrate the New Year and pray for peace during the Lantern Festival, which means exorcising evil spirits and promoting good deeds, showing the prosperity of the area. Now this traditional custom is still continuing, but the previous "horse" has been replaced by "tricycle".
