1984, Zhang Li met the composer Qin Yongcheng in Beijing, and they discussed whether they could write a melody from high to low. However, when Qin Yongcheng composed music, Zhang Li failed to write lyrics that satisfied him for a long time.

One morning, Zhang Li opened the window and looked into the distance. A rising sun rises slowly, reflecting the picturesque mountains and rivers across the street. Reminiscent of the road I have traveled, though tortuous, is ultimately closely linked to the fate of the motherland.

In contrast to this situation, just as the window opened, Zhang Li blurted out: "I can't be separated from my motherland for a moment." Feeling found, he wrote: "Wherever I go, there are hymns."
