Lingtou Festival in Guangxi?

On August 18th of the lunar calendar (September 17), the annual "Lingtou Festival" will be held in Lingshan Dalu Village, Qinzhou, Guangxi. Hakka people have the saying "Lingtou celebrates the New Year". At that time, local villagers will fish in the pond, slaughter ducks and hold a feast to worship their ancestors to show good weather, abundant crops, prosperous livestock and pray for a good future. The traditional folk custom "Tiaolingtou", which has lasted for thousands of years, is the highlight of the "Lingtou Festival" in Dalu Village of Lingshan, and Gai is named after its performance in Shantoutou. According to the villagers, this year's performance of "Tiaolingtou" is a "teacher class" passed down from generation to generation. Performers will wear masks, costumes, drums, and perform "throwing" (dancing) and "singing and dancing", with martial arts and folk magic performances interspersed. The performance lasted from the morning of August 18 (September 17) to the morning of September 19 (September 18). According to local officials, the legend of the folk dance "Tiaolingtou" originated in the Yao and Shun period, and now it is rare in China. The "Tiaolingtou" in Lingshan was recognized as an intangible cultural heritage project in Guangxi in 2007. "Lingtou Festival" has strong local characteristics, and Lingshan has always hoped to set up an art performance team of Lingtou Festival and integrate it into the local agricultural eco-tourism corridor. Dalu Village, awarded the title of "the first village of Guangxi Couplets", is located 8 kilometers east of Lingshan County, where a group of artists who love folk music and dance are active. The unique local Hakka cultural customs have attracted countless experts, scholars and tourists from home and abroad to visit and collect opinions. The "ghost teacher class" in the village is generally composed of twenty or thirty folk artists. After continuous inheritance, innovation and development, it has gradually become a local art performance form. "Tiao Ling Tou", also known as "Lingtou Festival" or "Watching Lingtou", consists of setting up an altar, opening an altar, jumping at noon, jumping for three divisions, tearing red, jumping for four divisions, jumping for loyalty and killing goblins. Douchi is the main percussion instrument widely used in China. According to Ming Jiajing's "Qinzhou Customs Records", "Mid-Autumn Festival in August, under a pseudonym, dressed as a ghost danced in Lingtou, which was called jumping on Lingtou." The Jiaqing edition of Lingshan County Records in Qing Dynasty records: "In August and September, witches and ghosts were divided in each village to compete in front of the country, which was called" Returning the Year "and" Crossing the Ridge ". His performances, such as Golden Eyes, with the system of Levin Shield, jumped in front of the club and then entered the room to drive away evil spirits and epidemics, which is also a legacy of his hometown. " "Lingtou" is a hillside near the village and a place for dancing. This kind of Nuo opera follows the basic characteristics of Nuo dance in Shang Dynasty and becomes a unique folk performing art in southwest Guangxi. In the past, "Tiaolingtou" was mostly staged in the Mid-Autumn Festival in August. With the changes of the times, the performance lasts for more than two months every year from the second day of August to the twentieth day of October in the lunar calendar.
