Which country has the most gold medals in the Olympics?
At the 23rd Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA in 1984, the United States got 83 gold medals, the most of any country in any Olympics. Another 61 silver medals, 30 bronze medals, for a total of 174 medals. There were two reasons for this:
The Soviet Union and East Germany did not participate that time.
The strong strength of the U.S. Army and the largest number of athletes participating (the largest number of U.S. athletes competing in this year's Olympics, ****622) were the underlying reasons.
