The origin of burning incense in temples?
Originally from the Buddhist ritual of making offerings, offerings have many meanings, and here are six of them, according to the next volume of the Sushumna Karmapa Sutra, there are five kinds of offerings such as applying incense (precepts), flower garlands (charity), burning incense (refinement), eating and drinking (meditation), and lighting lamps (wisdom), and the purified water (patience and humiliation), which represent the six degrees of the Buddhist Mahayana practice of thought, respectively. The outer rituals are used to symbolize the inner spirit.
