When the Yue Opera rose, it was accompanied by Nanhu from the beginning. In the early 1940s, there were all kinds of Yue Hu. Later, Gu Bingwen and pianist Li Zhiyong made a successful improvement on Yue Hu and soon became the main accompaniment instrument of Yue Opera.
Yue Opera, known as the second national opera, is the "most popular local opera", which originated in Shengzhou, Zhejiang, originated in Shanghai, flourished in the whole country and spread all over the world. During its development, it absorbed the achievements of Kunqu Opera, Traditional Chinese Opera, Shao Opera and other characteristic operas, and experienced the historical evolution from men's Yueju Opera to women's Yueju Opera. It was the first national intangible cultural heritage list.
