"Pipa Language" is included in Lin Hai's album "Pipa Phase" released on June 1, 2003, composed by Lin Hai and performed by Jiang Yan. Since 1992, Lin Hai has created dozens of solo albums, including "Silence in the Faraway Land", "Pipa Language", "Huanqin", "Winter Sun", and more than 2,000 pieces of music. "Pipa Whispering" is played with violin, viola, piano, dongxiao, and at times, well blended with the harmony, which highlights the pipa's character of being like a song, and enriches the expressive power and ideological feelings of the piece.

Lin Hai implies the far-reaching culture of the pipa, and Lin Hai uses world music, classical music, Jazz, Fusion, New age and other composing and arranging techniques to subvert the impression of the national instrument pipa, and to create an alternative flavor of the pipa.

In this work, western instruments such as piano, guitar, drums and strings are mixed with traditional Chinese instruments such as flute, xiao, erhu, etc., together with ethnic singing, and then accompanied by African rhythms, Mongolian long tunes, local folk songs, and purely vocal accompaniments.
