Mao Zedong comprehensively expounded the new democratic culture for the first time in Yan 'an period, and comprehensively explained the essence and connotation of the new democratic culture in On New Democracy, that is, to build an anti-imperialist and anti-feudal culture and a national, scientific and popular culture. After the founding of New China, we should vigorously promote cultural construction while promoting economic construction and democratic political construction. After the reform and opening up, the producers in China, represented by Deng Xiaoping, vigorously promoted the construction of spiritual civilization and cultivated "four new people"; Comrade * * proposed the construction of advanced culture; Comrade Hu Jintao proposed to build a harmonious culture. These are the important contents of Socialism with Chinese characteristics's cultural construction. Especially in the past 30 years, we have made great economic and political achievements, but also made a series of cultural achievements, which greatly inspired the cultural self-confidence of the Chinese nation. With more and more attention paid to us in the world, our ideological and cultural influence in the world is growing, and China people's cultural self-confidence has reached an unprecedented level. The convening of this conference marks that our cultural self-confidence has risen to a new height.

Thirdly, this meeting marks that our Party has reached a new height in formulating China's modern cultural strategy.

To develop its own culture, a nation must have its own strategies and tactics. The Sixth Plenary Session of the Communist Party of China made a complete exposition on this, that is, to take the cultural road of Socialism with Chinese characteristics, that is, to adhere to the socialist cultural direction, not the capitalist cultural direction, and not to return to feudal culture. The goal of cultural construction is to promote scientific development and meet people's cultural needs. The core task of cultural construction is to establish a socialist core value system and let the people have a beautiful spiritual home. The Sixth Plenary Session systematically expounded the whole cultural construction strategy. How to realize this strategy?
