Video tutorial on sphygmomanometer use

The use of sphygmomanometer is as follows:

1, the room should be quiet and the room temperature should be kept at about 20℃. Before the measurement, the subjects should relax, preferably rest for 20 ~ 30 minutes, empty their bladder, avoid drinking, coffee and strong tea, and quit smoking.

2. The subject can sit or lie on his back, and the arm of the subject should be at the same level as the right atrium (the arm should be at the same level as the fourth costal cartilage when sitting, and the arm should be at the same level as the axillary midline when lying), and the abduction should be 45 degrees. Roll the sleeve under your arm, or take off a sleeve for easy measurement.

3. Before measuring blood pressure, let off the gas in the cuff of the sphygmomanometer, and then tie the cuff evenly on the upper arm, neither too loose nor too tight, so as not to affect the accuracy of the measured value. The brachial artery in the middle of the balloon is opposite to the cubital fossa (most electronic sphygmomanometers mark this position with arrows on the cuff), and the lower edge of the cuff is 2 ~ 3 cm away from the cubital fossa.

4. After the measurement, turn on the electronic sphygmomanometer and record the blood pressure measurement results. After the first measurement is completed, it should be completely deflated. Wait at least 1 min, then repeat the measurement of 1 time, and take the average of the two times as the obtained blood pressure value. In addition, if you want to determine whether you have high blood pressure, you'd better take measurements at different times. It is generally believed that blood pressure can be determined as hypertension at least three times at different times.

If it is necessary to observe the change of blood pressure every day, you should measure the blood pressure of the same arm with the same sphygmomanometer at the same time and place, so that the measured results are more reliable.

Preparation before inspection:

1, before measuring blood pressure, be sure to rest in a quiet environment for 5- 10 minutes to relax your body and mind, and then start measuring after breathing and heart rate are stable.

2. Body position, posture and operation: Candidates take a sitting position. Generally, the left wrist is measured to keep the wrist sphygmomanometer at the same level as the heart, the cuff airbag is close to the skin, and the lower edge is away from the palm bend 1 cm, neither too tight nor too loose. After the measurement begins, don't talk or move.

3. Numbers: Human blood pressure is a variable parameter, and the measurement results will be slightly different each time. After loosening the cuff, you can measure it once or twice at intervals of 30~60 seconds and take the average.
