Size ratio before and after short planing

In China, woodworking planers are all made by carpenters themselves, and there is no uniform standard, so everyone's planers have different sizes. The dimensions mentioned here are the most accepted and used dimensions.

There are three types of planers in normal use: large, medium and small. The main function of the large planer is to smooth, straighten and level wool, so it is generally long, with a length of about 500mm, the width of the planer is 5 1mm (commonly known as 1 inch 6), and a small amount is 45mm (commonly known as 1 inch 4), which is less used than the wider and narrower ones. The new thickness is between 40 and 50 mm, and if it is less than 35 mm, it will be scrapped. There is a large flat seam planer with a length of 600-800 mm, and the other dimensions are the same as those of ordinary large planers. It can also be eaten as ordinary steamed bread, but it is a little heavy. There is also a plane that can only be stitched. Shaped like a big-edged planer, it is 600-800 mm long and the width of the planer blade is about 1 inch to 1 inch 2.
