When was the Giant Buddha Head built in Qianfo Mountain, Jinan?
Qianfo Mountain was originally named Lishan Mountain, which was called Triple Mountain in the Spring and Autumn Period, Triple Mountain in the Warring States Period and Shunshan Mountain, Miaoshan Mountain and Shungeng Mountain in the Southern and Northern Dynasties. During the reign of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty, caves were dug according to the mountain situation, and many Buddha statues were carved, which were called Thousand Buddha Mountains, and a "Thousand Buddha Temple" was built. During the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty, it was renovated and the "Thousand Buddha Temple" was renamed as "xingguo temple". Qianfo Mountain has become an incense resort. Since the Yuan Dynasty, temple fairs have been held on the Double Ninth Festival every year. After liberation, 1959 was built into a park.
Qianfo Mountain, with two rows of things, is magnificent and beautiful. Seen from a distance, it looks like a huge tapestry screen. Halfway up the mountain, there are "xingguo temple" and "Lishan Courtyard". In addition, there are scattered workshops of "Tang Huaiting", "Seven Words and Nine Classics" and "Jing Yun Zen".
According to the inscription next to it, the statue of this giant Buddha began in the third year of Song Jingyao.
