For some loads, such as resistive loads, when the power supply fails, the voltage on the load may rise sharply, but the rising value of current may not exceed the overcurrent protection value. In this case, overvoltage protection is appropriate. For example, when working at 50V, the voltage protection value can be adjusted to 55V. If the power supply fails, as long as the voltage rises to 55V, the power supply will automatically cut off the voltage output. When some loads are capacitive, due to the parallel connection of large-capacity electrolytic capacitors, the current may increase greatly when the power supply fails, but the voltage increase is not obvious. At this time, the overcurrent protection element inside the power supply will be started first, and the power supply will automatically cut off the output. The overvoltage protection value is set manually by the potentiometer on the panel. However, the over-current protection value cannot be set manually, and has been fixed in the machine, which is generally 1.2 ~ 1.5 times of the rated current. It should be noted that the overvoltage protection will start immediately and quickly, and the overcurrent protection will have a delay of about one second. This is because when the power supply works normally, if the load of the power supply is suddenly short-circuited, the instantaneous current output by the power supply is several times or dozens of times of the rated current value, which can be considered as current shock, far exceeding the value of overcurrent protection, but at this time, overcurrent protection is not expected to work. It is hoped that the voltage will automatically return to normal after the short circuit is relieved. Therefore, when designing overcurrent protection, it is necessary to avoid the current shock when suddenly short-circuited, and only consider starting overcurrent protection after the output overcurrent reaches a certain value. Overvoltage and overcurrent protection is aimed at internal faults, so since it has happened, it should not automatically restore power supply. If it must be reproduced, it must be closed and then opened. Short-circuit protection, current alarm and short-circuit alarm functions are user-oriented. If the current has dropped and the short circuit has been eliminated, the corresponding alarm sound will be automatically released and the voltage will automatically return to normal.
In addition to the above two protections, there is also a screen protection function in the power option.
