Children who grew up in the countryside, do you remember what games they played when they were young?

I am from the countryside and have worked for many years. My hometown is close to Beijing, less than 300 kilometers. The people in my hometown are simple and hospitable. The local crops are corn, sorghum, soybeans and millet. The main medicinal materials are Rhizoma Dioscoreae Septemlobae, Scutellariae Radix, Bupleuri Radix, Radix Sophorae Flavescentis and Rhizoma Atractylodis. The main fungi are: Tricholoma matsutake, meat mushroom, hazel mushroom, gray mushroom, apricot mushroom and thigh mushroom. Wild fruits: Carya cathayensis, Rosa roxburghii, Yamanashi Mountain, Zizishan Mountain, Hongcishan Mountain, Grape, Schisandra chinensis, Morinda citrifolia, and goat milk melon.

The main games we played when we were young were: marbles, throwing sandbags, cockfighting, rolling hoop, rubber-jumping rope, playing hide-and-seek with straw piles, 123 Woodenhead, eagle catching chickens, throwing handkerchiefs, having a water fight, boys urinating farther than anyone else, catching grasshoppers to feed chickens, suppressing fish, playing with treasures, jumping off buildings, drawing and catching stones, and so on.

Memories always make people feel kind. When I was a child, we bathed in the river in summer. No one is afraid of heat and heatstroke. When you are thirsty, drink a few mouthfuls of spring water in a small river ditch. When you are hungry, bake corn and potatoes on the shore and pick mulberries on the mountain. Everyone's hands and mouth are purple after eating mulberries. Everyone will laugh at each other. Maybe this is the happiness of children.

When I was young, in autumn, children would take the initiative to help their parents break corn and pick mushrooms up the mountain. Although there are few recreational activities in autumn, I like to go up the mountain to pick up pine branches and bag them, and I am too lazy to slide down the mountain on the bag. Everyone had a good time. Some people's bags are torn, and some people's pants are about to wear out. Maybe I just played when I was a child and didn't think too much.

Chinese New Year is the happiest day for everyone, because every New Year, our parents will buy us new clothes and wash our feet at seven or eight in the evening. Then the whole family will put on new socks, shoes bought by their parents, take a incense and a match, and then go to the hut and drag off firecrackers until the bags are full, so we will invite friends to play together. At that time, there were no street lamps in our countryside, only lights were installed on the lines pulled by our family. The road was dark, but we didn't.
