Twenty-four Filial Piety Pictures is a book about twenty-four filial sons in ancient China, with pictures. Filial piety is the core of Confucian ethics, the moral code to maintain family relations and the traditional virtue of the Chinese nation. In the Yuan Dynasty, Guo compiled the stories of 24 filial sons in ancient times into Twenty-four Filial Pieties. Later printed books were all equipped with pictures, commonly known as "24 filial piety pictures", which became popular reading materials to promote filial piety. Filial piety is the essence of China traditional culture, but Twenty-four Filial Pieties contains many feudal ethics and filial piety thoughts.
Twenty-four Filial Pieties is a book written by China in Yuan Dynasty to promote traditional Confucian filial piety. It selected and compiled the deeds of 24 filial sons and daughters from ancient times to the Song Dynasty, and narrated them in the form of words, poems and pictures, with the aim of "training children's consciousness", that is, cultivating children's feudal filial piety, which was widely circulated among the people. In the old society, it can be said that it is a household name and everyone knows it.
The Main Story of Twenty-four Filial Pieties
1, biting your finger hurts
Zeng Shen, a native of Lu in the Spring and Autumn Period, was Confucius' favorite pupil. He is called "Ceng Zi" by the world and is famous for his filial piety. When I was a teenager, my family was poor and I often went to the mountains to collect firewood. One day, there were guests at home, and my mother was at a loss and bit her finger with her teeth. Zeng Shen suddenly felt distressed. Knowing that his mother was calling him, he hurried home with firewood on his back and knelt down to ask why.
Mother said, "Suddenly a guest came, and I bit my finger. I hope you will come back." Zeng Shen received the guests and treated them with courtesy. The well-read Zeng Shen once put forward the cultivation method of "I will save myself in three days" (The Analects of Confucius Learning). According to legend, his works include Confucian classics such as "The University" and "The Book of Filial Piety". Later, Confucianism honored him as "Zongsheng".

During the Warring States Period, there was a man named Wang Pou in Wei State. He was very filial to his mother. When his mother was alive, she was born timid and afraid of thunder. When it thunders, Wang Pou often comes to her side to give her courage. After his mother died, Wang Pou buried him in a quiet place in the mountains. It was windy and rainy, and hearing the deafening thunder, Wang Pou ran to his mother's grave and knelt down, crying in a low voice and telling him, "Wang Pou is by your side, mother, don't be afraid."
