Soccer on the ancient of Eindhoven: one of the traditional three Dutch soccer, where out of countless superstars

When it comes to the traditional top three of the Dutch First Division, many people know that it should be Ajax, Feyenoord and Eindhoven. Indeed, it's been a while since I've paid attention to FC Eindhoven, but a piece of news the other day made myself start paying attention to what's going on with the club once again. That is, G?tze, who was a key figure in Germany's 2014 World Cup win, finally chose to join Eindhoven in the Dutch Eredivisie.

In Bear's opinion, it's a great choice and a great ending for Goetze to be able to play soccer again at one of Europe's top soccer clubs. The UEFA Cup group stage has been played twice in recent weeks, and Eindhoven have won one and lost one, finishing second in their group.

So this "Soccer on the Go" column focuses on PSV Eindhoven, a soccer club based in Eindhoven, Netherlands, which is one of the most successful soccer clubs in the Netherlands, along with Feyenoord and Ajax. Ajax and Feyenoord. The team won its first Champions League trophy in 1988, and has had a number of famous world-class strikers play for it, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Romario, and Ruud van Nistelrooy.

FC Eindhoven was founded on August 31, 1913, as "PSV". Initially, "PSV" was just an acronym for "Philips Sports Vereniging" in Dutch. At the time, Philips set up a company-sponsored sports club for its employees to commemorate the centenary of Dutch independence from France. Over time the club evolved into a professional soccer club. The club's base is the Philips Stadium in Eindhoven, which has a capacity of 36,500 spectators. The finals of several Europa League matches have been held in this stadium. It was born at the same time as Eindhoven Football Club.

Today, the letters "PSV" are one of the most important trademarks in European sport. PSV Eindhoven is also a member of the G14, the world's premier soccer league, thanks to the club's highly professional management and strong record in domestic and European competition.

Back in 1914, PSV Eindhoven officially began playing in the amateur Dutch soccer league. After several years of perseverance, PSV Eindhoven managed to break into the top flight of Dutch soccer.

In 1929, PSV Eindhoven won the first title in the club's history: the Dutch League Championship, and again in the 1934-1935 season. 1950 saw PSV Eindhoven win the club's first-ever Dutch FA Cup trophy, and five years later, in 1955, as the first team to win a European tournament in the Netherlands, PSV Eindhoven was recognized as one of the first teams in the world to win a Dutch Cup. Five years later, in 1955, PSV Eindhoven became the first Dutch team to reach the final of the Coupe Europeenne, the predecessor of the European Champions Cup, as the pioneers of Dutch soccer in Europe.

Magical clubs have never had a shortage of magical goalscorers, and in the 1956-1957 Dutch League season, PSV Eindhoven's all-time greatest scorer - Cohen Dillon - set the Dutch First Division single-season goalscoring record with 43 league goals. This incredible, and still gold-rimmed, number has never been broken by future generations.

In the mid-1970s, PSV Eindhoven celebrated the club's golden age. At that time, PSV Eindhoven could be said to be full of big names, with van der Koylen and Kerkhoff brothers as the head of the PSV Eindhoven all the way, from the 1973-1978 season, three Dutch League laurels, two Dutch Cup winners, and finally to win the European Union Cup, the history of the top of the European Union, and drew the perfect stop. 1978 May 9, this is still all like a red and white army fans like a swoon On May 9, 1978, a night that still enchants all the fans of the Red and White Army, PSV Eindhoven won 3-0 at home against Bastia of France and took home the first European trophy in the club's history, which has since put PSV Eindhoven's name on the European honor roll.

The team went through a series of changes and reorganizations, and in 1985, the Eindhoven people once again started their own "showtime". PSV Eindhoven, which had already recruited a number of world-class players such as Gullit, Kieft, Coman and Romario, played in the Dutch Eredivisie, the Dutch Cup and the European Champions Cup. In seven seasons from 1985-1992, the team convincingly won the Dutch League six times, including an incredible four consecutive titles. PSV Eindhoven also scored a hat-trick of seasonal trophies in the Dutch Cup, leaving the trophy in their window for the third consecutive year from the 1987-1988 season. But that's not all that PSV Eindhoven can be proud of: in the 1987-1988 season, PSV Eindhoven, under the leadership of then 42-year-old Hiddink, won the Triple Crown (Local League, Local Cup and Champions League), the highest single-season honor that any European football club can boast of. From that moment on, PSV Eindhoven truly became a Dutch giant and a European powerhouse.

In 1988, PSV Eindhoven really had the greatest moment in the club's history, and it was all thanks to the great coach Hiddink.

Hiddink began his tenure as assistant coach of Eindhoven in 1984, and has been the team's manager since 1987. In his first year as manager, he led the team to win the Dutch League Championship, and realized the three consecutive Dutch League Championships, but also led the team in 1988 to win the Dutch League, the Dutch Cup, the European Champions Cup, the "Triple Crown", and became a world-famous head of coaching, the famous players Gulliver Gullivert and Coman, and so on, are from his disciples.

This period of Eindhoven to offensive football-oriented, in the 87-88 season of the Dutch League scored 117 goals, in the history of the ranking of the third, however, in the Champions League that year, Hiddink took a very pragmatic approach to play, from the quarter-finals to the final of the five games and the opponents all played a draw, twice relying on the away goals eliminated opponents, the final is to beat Benfica on penalties. This period was also the best in the history of the Eindhoven team, with a number of records set, so Hiddink is considered to be the most successful manager in the history of the team.

In 1988 and 1989, Eindhoven's strength was weakened by the arrival of Gullit and Ronald Koeman in Serie A and La Liga, respectively. The club introduced Brazilian star Romario and league golden boot Kieft to form an unstoppable forward line, but their performance was not stable enough in 1989-1990, and after the league title was taken by Ajax by one point, Hiddink ended his relationship with Eindhoven. Hiddink ended his contract with Eindhoven.

After being crowned champions in 1988, PSV Eindhoven's exclusive scouting team began to show their value, and within five years they had the audacity to sign two diamonds in the rough from Brazil - Romario and Ronaldo - who had not yet been baptized by European professional soccer. And from the best player of the 1994 World Cup - Romario and to Ronaldo, who has won 3 times of World Footballer of the Year, you can see that the PSV scouting vision of the ingenuity and the standard of the coaching staff led by the English gentleman Bobby Robson at that time.

After a few years of silence, PSV Eindhoven made a comeback, winning the league title in 1996-1997, 1999-2000 and 2000-2001. Koku, Van Nistelrooy and Belgian Niels all played a central role in the team during the seasons respectively, when the manager was the Belgian-born marquee player, Gretz.

After the 2002 World Cup, the team's coaching staff underwent a major overhaul. Hiddink, who had led two different national teams to the World Cup quarterfinals in a row, resigned from his post as head coach of the South Korean national team, gave up his superstar treatment in South Korea, and returned to Eindhoven, where he had worked miracles for the first time.

At this time, PSV Eindhoven lineup representatives: Van Bommel and shocked the whole of Europe, "Robben, Kehlmann and Romeldahl" super striker combination, based on which, Hiddink and in the winter break after the signing of their own South Korean favorite Lee Yong-pyo and Park Ji-seung.

In May 2003, PSV Eindhoven won the Dutch League from defending champions Ajax, and the effect was immediate.

After that, many of the core players, Robben and Kejman, moved to the English Premier League. Under such preconditions, a new generation of captain Van Bommel, led by Peruvian winger Farfan and Brazilian center back Alexis, along with the leafy and famous Cocu, kept up the momentum and represented Eindhoven again in the 2004-05 season, winning the Dutch First Division and lifting the cup.

Since 2005, Eindhoven has won the Dutch First Division on several occasions, as well as picking up the Cup and Super Cup honors. I won't go into the details here, as the relevant league data for the last decade or so is easily accessible.

The Dutch soccer club Eindhoven is a springboard for many professional soccer players to step onto the road to stardom.
