Same chopsticks, why are Chinese, Japanese and Korean chopsticks very different?

There are some similarities between the cultures and customs of China, Korea and Japan. China, Japan, and Korea use chopsticks for tableware, and although they are both called chopsticks, they are still different. In China, we have a long history and culture. In ancient times, people used chopsticks not only for eating, but also for wedding and funeral ceremonies.

Chinese chopsticks are mostly cylindrical and made of bamboo. Because we like to eat at large tables and rarely eat or go without cold food, we don't need chopsticks with sharp heads, so our chopsticks are rounded.

In Korea, the food culture is a little different from ours. Koreans like to eat grilled food, if they use bamboo chopsticks, it will cause smoke on the dining table, so they came up with made chopsticks with metal, which solves the situation of grilled meat when the chopsticks grilled smoke. But metal chopsticks also have many disadvantages. Metal chopsticks have a smooth texture, and the food they hold can easily fall off, so they can be a bit funny when not used well at the dinner table.

In Japan, chopsticks are also made of bamboo or wood, but the difference with us lies in the shape of the chopsticks, Japanese chopsticks have pointed heads, because Japanese people like to eat raw things, such as sashimi, and sashimi is slippery, chopsticks are easy to fall off, so it's usually tied up to eat.

Chopsticks can be said to be a tool, but in fact it is a cultural embodiment, reflecting the different eating habits of people in different countries, but also reflecting cultural differences. We have to pass on the traditional culture left by our ancestors, we can not do some foreign things, to promote the real culture of our country with all our heart.
